« Attention to detail was excellent »

I was so impressed with the welcome and hand written card and balloons for our anniversary, everything clean and fresh and the team on reception so helpful when in need of help printing a boarding pass and looking after our luggage with a late flight enabling us to enjoy the final day. This was a personal trip but i travel a lot with work and this is high up on my best experiences. Thank you Steve

Overall great experience exept the situation: I ask at reception a bottle opener, they send to the bar, in bar was nobody ( at 7 pm) and when I comeback to reception the person left behind without any answer. Compare with previvios stay when housekeeper put himsellf a botle opener in ky room ( she/he saw a botle in the refrigerator)

Novotel City Centre is well located and fitted out. We knew what to expect, not wanting enormous foyers nor 5 star accommodation and 3 hat dining experiences. Rather, the layout and offerings were functional and accessible with a very helpful staff assisting us in getting about in our first visit to Brussels. Recommended and will readily stay here again when we next visit this historic city.

Check-in, rooms, in-room amenities, breakfast all good. The bar/restaurant is sadly just badly run, delivers slow, poor service and did so whether very full on Monday, or utterly empty on Tuesday.

Due to the weather we decided to eat in the restaurant. Nothing on the Chef Specials were available Only 2 of the starters were available Whatever I tried to order from the mains was not available and the dessert menu was the same experience. The service was very slow albeit friendly. I complained the following day at reception during check out but was not furnished with an explanation. In future we will risk the rain and eat at the Grimbergen Cafe over the road. Accommodation was of the usual very high standard

The hotel, room, staff, and breakfast were good. However the pillows were awful abs I really struggled to get to sleep. My colleague who was also staying thought likewise. Not appropriate given the price of the room.

« Great location and quality hotel, but had trouble with the swimming pool »

The hotel was easy to find, and was definitely a quality hotel with great communal areas and bedrooms. I chose this hotel over others costing less because it had a swimming pool and a gym. We used this in the morning before breakfast but the swimming pool (which has a jet that you swim against) didn't work. There was nobody to ask for help in the pool area, and no instructions. I mentioned it on check out, but the receptionist didn't seem to care.

« Not the best one »

Spacious rooms, however, dirty carpet and not the best hotel. Only one, sometime two receptionists were working, you have to wait long time as they were slower and not super welcomed. I have been to the many network hotels and this one is definitely not the best one. Also, there is a big construction just in front of the entrance, so the photos do not correspond the reality. The only good thing is location of the hotel.

« Great hotel with excellent breakfast located in one of the upcoming areas of Brussels »

Online check-in and out saved a lot of time. Room was clean with a nice view over Brussels. Staff relatively friendly, though one negative was the bar man who was closing up on the Saturday night, and only upon insistence, reluctantly provided some ice cubes, which was all that I needed. Breakfast was good, though asking Euro 5 extra for a simple omelette (instead of the soggy and cold scrambled eggs that were available) is rather unreasonable.

We had stayed at this hotel in December and loved the location. We enjoyed it a second time. The rooms were nice with good views and the restaurants was tasty. We were curious about the old city wall tower (?) on the hotel property but nobody knew what it was. Some knowledge of local history is not necessary but would be interesting.

« Loved the hotel itself, little glitches »

The hotel was very clean, and very welcoming. Bed was comfortable. Shower was great. Breakfast was huge - options for everyone, and it included fresh squeezed orange juice. (You put the oranges in the juicer yourself, so very fresh.) Two glitches - one of the staff assured us that he had called for a cab for us. However, he didn't follow up to make sure there was a confirmation. We waited for a cab that never came, and missed our train. If you're going to offer to call for a cab, you should make sure that a cab is really coming. Second, the hotel does take Discover card, and it ran through their credit card machine with no problem. However, their website and their internal systems won't accept the card, because they know it as Diner's Club (Discover bought Diner's Club years ago) and the number of digits does not match that of a diner's club card. The hotel staff was excellent in adjusting for this, but I would suggest that corporate update their systems to allow both cards in order to avoid this problem in the future.

I am generally satisfied with the whole stat experience. My room was however, too near to the streets as it was at level 1 and so I could hear the noises. There’s no laundry pick up from the room and we would have to bring it to the reception, which is uncommon for me.
