I stayed 2night. Room is very clean and comfortable,staffs are very kindly and friendly.Though my trip was by coach, This hotel is near the transport center, about 5minutes by walk. I wanted some vegetables salad in breakfast.

Always enjoy our stays with Novotel Tainui have been staying since 1999. I was very disappointed that the early check in I booked was not although we arrived at 11:15am? It is advertised as being available from 8.00am. The reason I booked early check-in was because my friend and I were still sore from surgery we had undergone a few weeks earlier. Shona at reception didnt seem to have an answer as to why it wasnt ready even though early check in should be from 8.00am. We were sore from car trip up from Taupo, but this did not seem to phase Shona...she seemed grumpy and this is not the first time she has served us with that kind of attitude. I have worked in hotel management and if she was one of my staff I would send her for more training or give her a job at the back, not in frontline reservations.

We were told that we will have rooms on the higher floors, as we requested, when we booked the rooms. When we arrived we were given rooms on the second floor but upgraded to the third floor. The bed in room 302 were incredibly uncomfortable - it is old and lumpy and after 4 hours of trying to sleep on this mattress, I got up to have a warm bath to try and soak my back ache away. Then the bathtub would not fill up with water as the bath plug was faulty and wouldn't retain the bath water. On arrival we went to the bar to order our welcoming drinks and the young lady behind the bar had the worst attitude. My friend, who has her own catering business and well known, told her off for being rude. We walked away feeling really upset with her unwillingness to help us and her total lack of wanting to help us. The breakfast buffet was good and that was about all that was satisfactory about our stay. I am honestly re-considering renewing my Accor membership next year.

For 2 times the housekeeping service failed, disrespecting the hanging warning do not disturb sign. the valet service quite a few times was not ready although was booked at that specific time. I felt under suspicion for one of the chauffer asking to pay half of accommodation before it finishes like if I could not afford to pay the hotel... So I split the payment as requested by one of the managers... felt discriminate...

Needs improvement in Meet & Greeting guests on arrival. Guest Service Agents were not friendly at all. Only the lady with a fancy hair style was very friendly.This is the second time Tourism Fiji Group stayed at the hotel. I've travelled and stayed in few Novotel properties Singapore, Fiji, Auckland they were very welcoming.As I was abit unwell; I didn't have a tissue box in room. Otherwise F&B Team were great.

Overall it was a comfortable experience. I was only there for one night so not too much could go wrong. I hadn't stayed there before so it did take a few minutes to work out how to get the room lights to work through the room card. Found the staff (front desk as that was the only person I talked to), helpful and pleasant.
