Rooms are too hot. A/c needs to do a better job. Some of my stays at Novotel were with a group. I was upset that I did not get my loyality points with these stats.

« Good Rooms, Nice Locatio »

The Rooms are functional and well equipped. Great to have the Kids in the Room for free! Personel at the Restaurant was not to motivated and overwhelmed at almost every breakfast. Really great was the breakfast Birthday sourprise for my wife, after I asked for it.

Stayed at this hotel for 2 nights and the hotel was great. Lovely rooms, a nice airy clean and inviting reception and the breakfast was very good too. Never had dinner though so not sure what evening food is like but I am sure its good. Would definitely stay again.

« Standard hotel but below usual Novotel standards »

The size of the rooms are normal compared to other Novotel hotels - so it easily fits a family with 2 kids in it. But the location is great, located close to train and tram stations - also the river is very close e.g. for running exercises. Parking in the garage is 29 CHF per night. When we arrived we got a wrong room assigned just with a bed for 2 people - but the cleaning staff on that floor reacted very quickly and found another room for us and informed the reception about that immediately. A great feature for travellers from the EU: there is phone provided by the hotel in the room which can be taken out of the hotel. It provides unlimited free data usage outside as well as gfree phone calls to Switzerland and other selected countries also for free. A little drawback is the unusal size and format of the pool - it fits some people in it but you cannot really take a swim in there. As chaotic I would describe the breakfast and the staff working there. The room does not fit at all for all the people staying at the hotel. Also it takes a while to get things refilled so you have to make requests all the time when something is missing. Also cleanliness is poor in that room - the staff even puts things I would declare as trash back into the buffet e.g. for cereals.

I love the breakfast buffet and am thrilled almost all "full English" courses are now included. The internet speed and reliability are fantastic. This stay was my fifth time I stayed at this hotel in Zurich. I am saddened by the departure of the German staff who were there in 2012 - 2016. When I checked in the first time I was assigned to an occupied room. I had to go to reception to get a different room.

On arrival, despite having checked in online through my Club Accor account, my booking was not associated to my account. As a gold member I consequently missed out on the gold benefits. I was surprised to find out by email the next morning that I had just joined Club Accor as a basic member. This has issues both of service and data privacy - I did not sign up to the Club a second time. The room was not to the standard of an international business hotel. Standard global adaptors did not work in the sockets. The airconditioning did not work - I only below heat out all night, despite being set to 19 degrees (even with windows open it didn't cool down). The next morning when I let reception know how surprised i was to be welcomed to the Club as a basic member, this was immediately fixed and I was given my welcome drink voucher. I was however told I could not use it for a drink I'd had the previous evening. As I was checking out after a one-night stay this was a bit of a waste of paper. The single positive element of my stay was the room service. It was prompt and service was good.

I have confirmed booking but when I arrived at 18:00 the receptionist called Islander told me that my rooms are not ready : I told him that I am traveling for long trip and I need the rooms now he said I will throw you and your kids outside, this is your ethics ???

It sounds to me as if the emotions on both sides played a role. You were certainly tired of your trip and my staff had some difficulties under pressure to fulfill all your wishes due to the high occupancy and your very short-term booking. I'm glad that we were finally able to arrange the two rooms with connecting rooms. Of course I edit that you had to wait a little bit, however, in this case the availability must be checked exactly, here I ask for your understanding. Of course, I will make sure that my staff receives a coaching so that they can stay calm even in stressful situations. I'm sorry if the behavior was not quite appropriate. Family friendly hotel: interior swimming pool, fitness, garden with swings (can see the kids from hotel room or restaurant), nice and helpful staff. Public transportation card valid 24h can be bought at reception desk. Tram and train station at walking distance. First time in this hotel, but I'll come back again.

We enjoyed our stay (two adults and one teenager). Room is Novotel standard one, very well cleaned. Hotel is modern and quiet, easy access from railway station and by car. Close to old city center by tramway, with station in front of hotel. Very good breakfast with good quality food and large choice. Bar and restaurant good as well. Internet Wifi OK. We appreciated the special cultural package price.

Enjoyed my stay, the staff were welcoming, friendly and hotel quiet. However, please consider better hairdryers for guests with longer hair, mirror over desk and better light in the room.
