Trip was great - service was amazing after we came back soaking wet from Taylor Swift concert, we were greeted with warm towels and friendly staff! Proximity to venue was amazing. Only downside was the noise from the cleaners in the morning who were yelling out each other in the hallway and room across the hall (it was before 9 and after a late night would have appreciated a little courtesy in the morning!)

Nothing you have described online matches the experience at the hotel from staff who take 3 attempts to code your key or the ripped carpet when you leave the lifts to the room or the damaged furniture in the room finally the menu offered for the pub downstairs online was updated 12 months ago to average bar food.

« Clean, quiet, reception desk staff very hospitable, so too were the concierge staff. »

I usually stay in 5 star accomodation whenever I travel and I was quite surprised by the facilities that were offered to guests at the Ibis. An essential feature that I look for are very clean facilities, and they were, clean white towels with no traces of dark marks on them, and they were. Being told when I checked in that I was 'guest of the day' was a nice surprise.

As we were attending a Carl Barron show at Qudos Bank Arena, we looked for a hotel close by. The Ibis was just that and knowing that it was connected to the Novotel, we had high expectations. Although the hotel was very busy, due to various other events happening at the same time, the staff were welcoming and provided parking around the driveway, as underground was full. Taking the elevator to our room, we were concerned by the dated condition of the carpets in the hallways. The room was small but would meet our needs for the evening. The doors, however, didn't not provide much sound insulation and we could easily hear conversations between other guests and their doors closing repeatedly. We chose to have breakfast at the hotel in the morning (again for convenience), yet it seemed that the staff were not ready for the number of people booked in. Food was sub-standard and not what we'd expect of a buffet breakfast.

Aircon didn’t cool the room it was on 18 but had no chill to it and on a stinking hot day made it humid in the room and barely slept. Apart from that everything was great. And the staff were amazing.

Room service failed to deliver our meals before we went to the concert - we were told that they would be complimentary after the concert - we tried calling the restaurant at 11.40pm and no answer after several minutes, nor did reception answer. There was dirty underwear left in the bathroom from a previous occupant. Upon checkout we were given complimentary parking to make up for our disappointing experience, only to discover that everyone was getting complimentary parking as the gate was fixed in the raised position so in fact there was no compensation for our very disappointing stay. Having stayed in your hotel several times this year, I expected much better than we experienced this time.
