« Excellent bedroom, with really nice hot water on tap, comfortable bed, good tv with freeview channels and very quiet. It's a 10 minute walk to city centre, but it's very easy and safe, »

Very good. Breakfast was good with superb fresh bread but hot dishes weren't very hot!

As always, the staff were exceptionally kind, friendly and helpful. They really do go out of their way to make your stay a good one. Rooms are quiet, showers really good. The refurbishment was well due, and is nearly complete - rooms much smarter now! Beds very comfy, although I find the pillows too big. Breakfast is generally very good. They could use some more veggie options on the dinner menu - food in the evening is adequate, but is the least positive aspect of the hotel. It’s all about the staff, really. They’re a fab bunch!!

Arrived earlier than checking in time and was pleased that we could leave our luggage with reception while we went out for the day. ( there are nolockers at either bus or train station). Our two nights were trouble free, breakfast could have been hotter, all other facilities fine.

The rooms are in the hotel were in the process of being upgraded. My room appeard to have been updated but on closer inspection there was a lot of snagging to be carried out to make the room 100%. Such as door stoppers not fitted to the bathroom door, screws sticking out of the bathroom wall. The ground floor was a building site. Breakfast was limitted but enjoyable. Staff were helpful and polite. Hotel now also charge £5 per day for the pleasure of parking at there hotel.

Nicely redecorated room, comfortable bed and nice staff. I like the emphasis on helping the environment. The breakfast is good but the pastries were not covered so could go dry. You cannot add an infant on to the booking on accord.com so that is confusing as a baby can’t stay in its own room.

Please see my complaint raised. Still awaiting response Quite frankly the stay was a shambles from the start. arrived to a queue to check in of 6 people. 1 person on the desk serving. The other, reception manager looking at her badge continued with her telephone call placing orders for peanuts! All guests were annoyed by this. After checking in we attempted to get into to room. The card did not work. We asked the cleaner for help to be told that the lock on that room was broken. After waiting in reception for another 20 minutes I eventually got served and was allocated a different room. Low and behold the key did not work on this room either. I got help from the cleaners again who told up we have to put the card in a different way. Check in was a shambles. No information given on breakfast or anything else. I had to ask for all information. We dumped our bags and headed out as we were now running late for our concert. Upon waking the next day I was looking forward to a cup of tea. I now discovered there was no kettle in the room. Plenty of coffee and tea but no way to get hot water. We went for breakfast to find there was no hot food left. It was about 10 min of waiting about before there was more bacon. This was undercooked and there was nothing to go with it apart from dry scrambled eggs and a burnt hashbrown. The coffee machine was also out of service. We left with a cake for breakfast. Considering I paid for breakfast and early check in I feel neither were delivered satisfactorily. The concert itself was great but the weekend dampened by a poor stay in a poorly run hotel. I would like a refund for the 2 breakfasts we were unable to eat and also the early check in. « Room was clean, bed very comfortable. No drawers so awkward to put clothes away »

Fine. Room quiet, did not hear from noises from other rooms. Newly refurbished corridor, carpet on ground floor threadbare. Room clean, bed very comfortable. No drawers or shelves so designed to hang up clothes and leave everything else in suitcase. Very much a one night place. Toaster broken. Only had scrambled eggs, and bacon not good, stuck together and not all well cooked. Otherwise breakfast ok. Odd location for walking, on the ring road, but once you find the sole path, it is less than 10m to walk to Cathedral and close to railway station.

When we checked in, the only room available was a handicapped accessible room, which is fine except that the accessible shower covered the bathroom floor with water everytime we used it. Then, the demolition work in the room immediately next to ours started promptly at 8:00 AM each morning with workers banging on the wall of our room, which made sleeping in on the weekend difficult. Finally, the construction workers went down to the breakfast buffet and finished all the food, so when my wife came down to breakfast there was nothing left. I would, however, especially like to commend the desk workers, who were always friendly and helpful (there being nothing they could do about the banging), and who went out of their way to accommodate my wife's dietary restrictions by finding her something she could eat when we first arrived, hungry, at 11:00 PM.

Like the new branding! Your staff were up to your usual standard as was our room. Only wee niggle was the lack of bacon at breakfast on Saturday and Sunday. Your kitchen staff need to be more proactive in checking the hot breakfast items. I personally would have liked fresh fruit salad every day but I realise that other guests had eaten it all before me!

Lovely staff. Nice food. Comfy bed. Unfortunately £100 per night is too expensive for a 2* hotel, especially as breakfast is not included. I travel for work and normally stay in 5* which includes breakfast for £79 per night and free parking. So whilst the hotel was nice and clean and the staff were lovely, unfortunately for me it is over priced.

« Renovation works compromised quality of stay »

Checked in very late and left the next morning. Renovation works at the hotel meant that corridors weren’t signposted with which rooms were which direction, in the morning loud builders noises could be heard.

Disappointed hotel staff could not find my Accorhotels booking when I arrived. I feel that I didn't get the double bed I had booked due to this. Breakfast was great value, staff were friendly.
