-Aircon is not only super loud, but only goes down to 19 degrees. I couldn't open the windows because of the locks and anti tamper devices, but I couldn't even get to a cool enough temperature and ended up having a headache from the noise. -The walls are thin, other guests phone kept ringing and vibrating against a surface in the middle of the night, and then someone was hammering something below me at 6am. -The bed was two singles mattresses put together, one slightly elevated than the other, so I ended up sleeping on a single, otherwise risk having back problems. -The electric sockets... it's normally standard to have sockets on either side of the bed, everywhere in the world, but the only sockets in the room were all the way next to the window. which probably explains why I kept hearing peoples phones in the middle of the night. +Location wise it was fine, the room was good size wise, the shower was nice and the staff were really friendly. However the multiple issues don't make up for it, so a maximum of 3/10.

« Comfortable stay, only shower never works properly »

Access to the hotel is easy being so close to the train station. However, I've stayed in this hotel 2/3 times now and everytime I have stayed the shower never works properly. The water in every room I have stayed in always just trickles out. I'm not sure if the pressure is incorrect or something but it's rather coincidental that each room has a malfunctioning shower!

Pleasant well placed hotel, no parking, an extra cost for parking. Not obvious on booking. Otherwise a good standard. Nothing else to add - except to have a set number of characters, is ridiculous, and here I am for the the fourth time adding extra blurb...........

Lovely room with comfy bed. Scrambled egg at breakfast had seen better days. On the Sunday morning we were woken by workmen laying floor protection and then later hacking the wall panels away with crowbars. We appreciate that refurbishment work has to be carried out at some point but why not wait until after checkout?

room: ok kitchen: bad, looks like a cheep canteen. Sitting under the cold air condition was very uncomfortable. The dinner I had, a Burger was the worst I have had in the last time. The personal was working a lot in this empty canteen. But ordering another beer was impossible. The didn't look at me.

both lifts out of order and had to walk up 6 flights of stairs. Upon arriving a wedding was held in the banquet rooms next door, why were we not emailed BEFORE we arrived that this was happening and could cause issues sleeping wise. Parking was not explained to us that we had to pay not a lot but still not explained too. bed comfortable bathroom nice. Room tatty and needed updating

Hotel was a mess, paint peeling in the bedroom, 1 lift not working, double bed was 2 single beds pushed together, scruffy all over, shower would only run scalding hot and all for £90 per night !!! ....unfortunately the Novotel in Stevenage was full and I couldn't get in there but it's a far superior hotel for less cost !!! I will never stay in this hotel again.....an outrageous price for an old, scruffy and dirty hotel

In my stay in Ibis Hotel,Stevenage,which I visited every year in summer time,this year between 12.7.2019 till 16.7.2019, when I was on 4/F,room 415,the only lift,one not in use, broke down in the afternoon of 13.7.2019( Sat) ,and was left unattended till Monday morning 15.7.2019,for more than 50 hours. I needed to walk up n down as with all the hotel users , which caused considerable problem n tiredness given my age,74 this year. I mean,I don't blame the staff,and obviously in a Hotel as Ibis,world wide n I have been using for over 10 years as Accord member,there's got to be contingency to solve situation as this..than leaving the problem in the hands of the customers. Incredible. Besides,Ibis ,Stevenage,is the only hotel I used ,with no back ups of any whatsoever. I need to bring with my own personal items,including sleepers . Not even a pencil or balloon,papers I can use to write... Sadly to see the difference between all the hotels I ever used, ,the Sofitel,Novotel,Ibis.... I am using Ibis ,Stevenage,cause I have friends n relatives residing in this area which I spend time visiting each and every years. I am not sure ,I will consider to use Ibis ,Stevenage in my next visit to Dtevenage. Least,all the patrons in the period 13.7.2019 to 15.7.2019 deserved an apology statement from the management for the delims they had to come over in the period.

- lift was greasy and broke down for the weekend (all guests had to use the stairs) - the power connector (for my shaver) in the bathroom mirror was broken - the flexible tube was rotten just below the showerhead (minor issue) - the telephone in my room 417 did not work (I tried to call the reception with 5555) - on sunday night craftsmen worked in the 5th floor just above my room and removed the wallpaper and the carpet (at one o'clock in the night I went upstairs and asked them to stop - what they did) + the staff tried to help me with the shaver and let me use other checked-out rooms for shaving there + the value-for-money ratio was ok

Not the best experience this weekend as there was a wedding on the first floor with music been played untill 1am, and to top it off both the lifts where out of order and we was on the 6th floor. Very unhappy as didn’t get to sleep untill really late and up early for work.
