We needed an extra nights' accommodation after the UTMB week and booked with Mercure Chamonix Centre because of its central location and affordable pricing. The room was spacious enough to accommodate us and our luggage and the bed and beddings were nice and comfortable. Only complains were the lift and the amenities in the bathroom. The lift was out of order which meant we had to lug our bags up 2 floors, and the soap dispenser in the shower was broken, while there was no soap tray on the wash counter. Points for improvement.

The elevator was not working all the 4 days we stayed. We have a toddler and a pregnant woman and they did not bother to make things more convenient for us. The bfast spread was good. The room was a bit musty. The carpets in corridors need extra cleaning smells old and dusty. Otherwise, location was pretty good smack in chamonix centre butbaway from the noise and near the gare. It would be nice if they offered. More convenient stay for pregnant women and children especially if their service elevators are not working.

Many runners were put in the facilities across the road where there was no working lift and noisy works being undertaken in the building (floor being broken out in the entrance).

The building we stayed was under renovation. I was there for UTMB 2019 and take the opportunity for 3 weeks holidays with several big luggages. and Elevator doesn't work. And if you are a ultra runner, you would understand going up and down the stairs after the race. the smell of the paint,the cleanliness, the light in the room keep blinking, and the phone in the room doesn't work.

When I reach to the hotel from the beginning I need the receptionist (His name was (yasir Before I do my reservation through booking.com I went to the reception and I ask for the rooms available for that night but unfortunately he kick me out and another way as he said that's it there is no rooms available and the moment After that I went through booking that come and I booked for 4 nights that time when I do that he get me the baddest Room ever and the hotel with no ACIn that Room. timeI asked him to move me to another Room he said sorry sir we don't have any rooms available I went to another guy trainee he was that time and then he try his best to find me another Room but in the same time Mr. Yasir came back again to me and front of the other guy and shout on him and me and very loudly boy says I said we don't have rooms available now it's like get out from the hotelWe stays that day tell5:00 a.m. with no sleep because of that yasir After that finally we changed their own to another bedroom to sleep for the next 4 hours till the shift will be changed In the morning that exception manager he came to me and tell me the fake story which is have been explained by Mr. Yasyr And he get me better Room and the 2nd night But unfortunately when we finally moved we get another problem which is no Wi-Fi and over all the hotel except the reception that was and problem and the Wi-Fi On day number 3 we get another problem that there is no water over all the hotel so we didn't stay till the 4 day even I do the check out and I lost my money because of that but stay and bar choice that I did ever in my life I think that the issue is not only from the hotel himself or the stuff it's a problem from the management fully of the hotel and I think the full management have to be changed not only the receptionist because of that kind of issue from the day one the it's doesn't mean that something wrong food that reception I hope that my comment will be taken up to consideration

I have investigated your reservation and I have the following comments : We received your reservation for 2 nights and not 4 on the 19/08 at 22:34 an the check in was made by one of our female receptionists ; Flore. We have no Yasir working in our hotel and we have full WIFI and water in all the hotel ? « Great deception »

Too small room and bathroom, no fridge, no bath gel, telephone out of order, only one chair in a double room. We reserved a room with mountain view, but our room had rear courtyards view (of course we could see also mountains, but in Chamonix is impossible don't view them). About breakfast: Toaster was two days out of order (unacceptable in a 4 stars hotel), restocking of food wasn't enaugh. Not enough parking in a city where is very difficult to park. The last day the elevator was out of order. We had to carry our baggage from the third floor.

staff service is very very very bad and very rude - constructions on the block and it was really nuisance +6012 2027510 if you can call me i will tell you A to Z.. Staff cant even do a simple task - we ask for towels - and i have to walk over to get it - it was raining - this damn staff asking me to go n buy an umbrella and walk over to reception..

The room was modestly furnished and the bar and reception lacked atmosphere. The lack of atmosphere could be due to the large groups staying at the hotel who appeared to be inclined to keep to themselves. An additional comment I would like to make was upon checking-in I was glad that I clarified the car parking tariff. Which, at 30€ per day, was not justifiable.

« Appropriate luxury accommodation for the majestic location at the base of Mont Blanc »

The hotel provided a perfect experience, matching the luxury of the Mont Blanc view in Chamonix. The staff was very friendly and accommodating, the very clean room generous, yet cozy, with an amazing bathroom, comfortable bed and a priceless view of the Mont Blanc from the balcony. The hotel is located in a quiet area but just a few steps from the old downtown where all the action is. A very nice and rich breakfast buffet helped to complete the great stay.

The room was spacious but decor was tired and worn. The duvets were too thick for summer, no air conditioning and we didn't feel safe leaving the window open during the night as we had been given a ground floor room. We were disappointed not to have a fridge in the room either.

The hotel is well located next to the train station and the train to Mer de Glace. Very good breakfast. Room is ok, nothing special. Nice balcony with view to the mountains that are facing the Mont Blanc.

Have stayed at this hotel many times over the years but this years experience was awful, Staff cold, unhelpful and simply do not care about customers needs I would go as far to say that the 2 ladies we dealt with do not like like foreigners.

Hotel is a bit worn and does not have air conditioning. We arrived Chamonix on a hot day of 34 degrees and it was not easy for us to sleep at night. Apart from that, the hotel is conveniently located near to the restaurants and shopping area.

Good room for three. Parking space reserved. Check in good. However, it was a hot night and the room was hot. There was no air con and as we were on the ground floor it was not secure to open the door to the balcony.
