Lovely hotel - good location BUT the renovations are really impacting the whole experience. Workers aren't supposed to start until 9am but in the 3 days we stayed, work directly above us started at 7:20am; 6:45am; and 8:10 am. I tried calling the front desk and the concierge - no answer, so I called from outside the hotel and got an answer. The management needs to keep on top of the builders breaching the start times - just taints the whole experience unfortunately.

It was once again very comfortable and clean. Although building works were going on, we honestly found it to be hardly any disturbance. The staff were extremely helpful, and nothing was ever too much trouble.

Renovated room was lovely and I am sure the Hotel as a Pullman will be too however during this stay the construction noise was very disturbing and too early in the morning. When on holiday I believe most people would object to jackhammers at 8am.

Construction was an issue, I know it is hard to control. Breakfast was late (room service) Waited 20+ minutes to have my bag held as the front desk didn't call someone Was it a bad experience? No, but I won't rush back either

The hotel was undergoing renovations however these did not impact my stay except for having to find the alternative entrance. It would have been helpful to have been emailed in advance with this information. The room was a good size however the bed mattress was far too firm. Luckily there were not many people staying in rooms nearby as I discovered once someone was next door, that the walls are very thin and really need sound proofing. The hotel offered a $10 credit in their eateries for not having my room serviced daily, which is great idea in terms of reducing carbon footprint. The only downside was going to Soul Cafe where it took over 20 minutes to be served my coffee, which meant I had to drink it quickly and run for my appointment. Not sure why the service took so long as there were only four other people eating in at the cafe.

My daughter and I had a lovely 3 days/4 nights stay. We had booked with the Swanson because it was so central and it had 2 queens sized beds. Not many hotels had this option. I had requested a room with a view if possible but we ended up on the fourth floor looking at the back of buildings. It was a our only small disappointment . The beds were very comfortable. The water pressure in the shower was great. The $1 breakfast deal was delicious and we will definitely choose to come back here in the future. I am looking forward to seeing the hotel after the renovations after finished. Regards Maria.

Location of the hotel is superb with eateries, shops and transport just outside, the room is of decent size, well lit and comfortable, and breakfast is good. However, there was an unpleasant odour from the bathroom sink throughout my 3-night stay. It would be great also if the bathroom could be better ventilated with a suction fan. My husband opened the window to ventilate the room but could not close it back and had to call the reception about this problem. The maintenance guy came shortly after the call to close the window.

All reception staff I encountered were great and willing to pleasantly assist. Room made for a comfortable, easy stay even while reno is happening. Room doors come with the standard heavy hotel "thunk" as they close and disturb someone else.

« The room was lovely and the renovations will be great when they’re finished. »

Overall, good. There’s obviously a lot of renovations going on, especially in the foyer - which things a built hectic for the staff and check-in etc. Also, there was strong sound in the aircon duct of 706 - you need to get that checked. I only noticed it in the middle of the night and it only went away when I turn the aircon off.
