Highly recommend location if you looking for everything is so near - food, shopping,transport etc , Very convenient and wonderful location , staff are very helpful and friendlly. Will recommend and come back to the same hotel during my next visit

Disappointing that the room was so small and we were at the end of a corridoor (ROOM1228) The room was smaller than it looked on the photos.

My partner and I were booked in to stay three nights however, we ended up leaving on the second night to stay elsewhere. We booked the ‘king superior suite’ and by looking at the room we were in I’d hate to see a standard room. In saying this, the location is incredible. But we will not stay again and I probably wouldn’t recommend.

the actual hotel and room were fine although the ongoing renovations were slightly inconvenient I accept this happens , so the hotel and room were satisfactory, however I had my car valet parked and am 100% sure I left a 50 dollar note in the sunglass holder and when the car was returned it wasn't there , I realised this the following day and emailed the receipt for the parking and a note to st… explaining what happened I then received a return email Monday morning at 7.33 am to say it would be investigated and they would be in touch so far I have heard nothing back from COLGRAVE Toby - The Swanston Hotel Melbourne Grand Mercure [mailto:H3…] . I understand the reply will most likely be we checked had no proof all care no responsibility and I shouldn't have left money in the car and that its difficult to prove etc etc but this has still left me disappointed and I will most likely stay elsewhere next time I need accommodation.

I loved the location of the hotel, very handy to everywhere we needed to be, the cost was very reasonable too. But I didn't get any sleep due to the room being very hot, I couldn't get the thermostat to go below 18°, and also very noisy as it was the room closest to the elevator and I'm a light sleeper.

Was only there late eve to early a.m. Breakfast assortment very good. Coffee in machine hhhhmmm not bad but maybe fresh coffee but realise you serve volumes of people all at once. Lobby felt very tired with tiny reception desk....I think the hotel suits someone on business ...in & out just to sleep. Location good if you want CBD.

The staff were very accommodating, the linen was nice and clean, however the room itself was dated and well worn. The restaurant had the basis foods, though a lot of the plates and cutlery were not properly cleaned on a daily basis.

I was a little disappointed with the facilities at the hotel. The entry to the hotel was underwhelming and a little untidy in feel. I didn't feel that I had entered an Accor establishment. The staff were friendly and supportive though. The room was just acceptable but it felt dated. I also wasn't overly impressed with the buffet breakfast, I was surprised that with the large number of overseas guests that the buffet didn't include some other options that typical fried bacon and scrambled eggs. I unfortunately will not be adding the Mercure Welcome to my list of suitable hotels for my stays in Melbourne.
