All of the staff I dealt with were extremely friendly, and actually very good at making relaxed conversation. The room was clean, and I enjoyed a good room service meal.

We were treated and greeted with smiles and we were totally blown away with the complimentary gilfs in our room. We have always stayed, when possible in Accor hotels and the Ibis at Ellerslie many times and never have had cause to complain. Always excel with their service.

Room adequate for single person It had everything that I needed .I appreciated the Sky sports channels being available. The bed was hard surface on is definitely sleeping on it, not in it . That might be my age talking. I would believe that your majority regulars would be travellers that are younger and stronger in the body The restaurant provided a satisfying meal there was quite a long wait on the Monday night but you were busy with a sport seminar and I was with other people so we had conversations and drinks. We are probably tuned into instant food gratification and have lost the art of conversation somewhat. Breakfast was standard fair for hotels not bad but nothing flash .It was more fueling up for the day.

« My stay was OK »

Check in was quick, room was adequate but floor under the bed was dirty and the linen on the bed was slightly discoloured (brown marks). I was unable to access the TV2 +1 function (Sky TV magazine had it recorded under Channel 502). This channel was not available in the channel selection and reverted to normal TV 2 channel. I called reception to explain and ask what to do - a young Indian woman was sent to my room - she did all the things I had done to the TV to try and find what was wrong but this was not resolved before the woman left my room #2038. I asked if there was another room available for me to watch the programme I was waiting to watch and even requested to be moved as my company had paid $199.00 for the overnight room. The woman told me she would check with her Manager and call me but never did that night and I missed watching the programme. I was very disappointed with this service after finding the 15 minute fix issue card next to my bed. I was a paying customer who was not able to receive the standard Motel services and the complete disregard of my plight by your staff. Although some aspects of my stay were disappointing, the issues that were positive were amazing (food/bed). More attention to detail will be required in future. Dinner and breakfast was amazing from the downstairs lobby.

My reason for staying was related to a medical procedure that I needed to undergo. So, not something I was looking forward to. However, the room, its amenities and our restaurant experience were all above what I had expected. Kind and welcoming staff also made a difference.

« Overpriced for what it was »

Neither here nor there really. Expensive room directly overlooking the petrol station. I guess it is Auckland pricing. To it's credit the room was dark and insulated from external noise - but could hear doors banging and people talking in corridor. Service in bar and reception was slow, bar/restaurant toilets were disgusting but couldn't find any staff around to notify. Disappointing for the price, wouldn't stay again.

The room was cleverly designed and very comfortable. Everything I needed and nothing I didn't without compromising on quality. The staff were all welcoming and thoughtful.
