This was the 3rd time I stayed at the Sofitel Hotel group and this time in London disappointed me a lot. First of all, The room and bathroom were cramp when comparing with my friend’s room which both of our rooms fall in the same category and we paid the same price. The worst thing is that my room has zero view, we had to keep the window shade closed all the time since we were on the 2nd floor that made us felt insecure and unsafe. However staff were friendly especially the ones at the main entrance.. they always have smily faces.

The Hotel location is great and it is a beautiful hotel. However, you have significant gaps. The phone in my room did not work, the toilet handle broke and was not repaired, and I cut my finger on a sharp surface by a light switch (It was a screw not properly installed). Some of the staff was very effective and helpful - others didn't have a clue. I had to go to the desk three times to get a late checkout. Finally I found a woman that helped me. The other times, the staff seemed fixated on determining the time of my flight. Thank you for the late check out, it was very helpful. And finally - your breakfast is hopelessly over priced.

I am devastated to read such awful feedback. I am afraid though that we were not made aware of all the technical issues you have been through in your room and bathroom. Should this have been the case, we would have sorted everything in no time. Regarding late check-outs, we always do our utmost to meet our guests' expectations however I am afraid this is subject to our availability on the day of departure. I am relieved to read that Alina had a positive outcome to offer you for your departure time from the hotel. Breakfast wise I would like to take this opportunity to highlight that our breakfast rate is competitive compared to other 5-star-hotels in the area. The Sofitel experience is one with a focus on the small details. The welcome at the door, the service at reception, the perfectly cleaned and managed rooms. My lipsticks, neatly stood upright! Of course, it’s comfortable and lovely, but being walked to the room by Laura on Reception was a pleasure.

This was my fourth stay at this wonderful hotel and each time I enjoy the experience more. It has a great ambience - enjoy at a bit of a Paris feel while in London. It is also an ideal location within walking distance of Buckingham Palace, Trafalagar Square, Covent Garden, Picadilly Circus and Regent Street. The staff are very attentive. I enjoyed the spa facilities while I waited for my room. I mentioned it was my birthday and I was treated to a surprise dessert, wine and a small gift and card. The staff were excellent--can't ask for any better. There should be bath soap for the bath offered though. There's a spa in the building and they didn't even give a bit of product to run a bath in the room.

We enjoyed our stay at the hotel. All the staff we encountered were courteous and efficient. Did not realise that certain bathrooms were only available with certain categories of room. I find this somewhat disconcerting as normally I don’t have that differentiation to take into account.

From check in to check out we felt welcomed. Lovely room, courteous, friendly, professional staff who went the extra mile to ensure that our stay was memorable. I asked for an early check in as we were celebrating a 70th birthday and had plans for later in the day. When we arrived at 12.45 both rooms were ready and we were given a glass of Prosecco and nibbles to welcome us. We gave our upgraded room (I am a Platinum member) to my brother and sister in law and by the time we got to the room, it had been decorated with balloons and later a cake arrived. It is this sort of thoughtful touch that will keep us returning to the hotel whenever we stay in London. Although the Balcon restaurant was being refurbished, the alternative breakfast arrangements provided a seamless service that ensured the same choice was available and the quality of both food and service was as good as always. It was a truly wonderful stay and I am grateful to the staff for ensuring that my brother-in-law had a memorable birthday.
