We stayed at this Ibis for two nights in early August. The staff was friendly and helpful upon our arrival. The hotel is conveniently located across the street from the Brussels Midi train station and a quick 15mn walk to the Grand Place and the Manneken Pis. The room was spacious and clean but a bit dated (they were remodeling the upper floors). The breakfast was decent but a bit pricey (30€ for my son and I) . The day we left, we opted for a quick breakfast at the train station instead. Our first morning there, I had put the do not disturb sign on the door handle while we went to have breakfast. The male housekeeper, who was vacuuming the hallway, went into our room while we were gone to clean and make our beds. I was a bit irritated by that. As far as the safety of the hotel, I did feel safe in the hotel but I have to admit that I didn't like seeing and hearing all the men standing outside day and night. The hotel staff reassured us that we were safe but to look out for pickpockets (which is true in any big city). The best part of the time we stayed there was that the Fair was in town (Zuid Foor) and it was just a block away. With an 11 year old in tow, this was a treat. We took advantage of that. If I ever return to Brussels, I would be ok with staying at this hotel again but I saw that Ibis has two other hotels closer to the City Center, steps away from the Galeries Royales and the Grand Place for a comparable rate. I may explore these options as well

This was my fourth visit, I thought many things had improved since last year, especially in the breakfast room where everything was available. There were always plenty of seats available and the there was little or no queuing. My room was very large with a view over the Gare-Midi. As usual in Ibis hotels the bed was very comfortable, I have a complaint and that is the loudness of the music in the bar, reception and breakfast room. I felt sorry for the staff who had to work in those conditions, especially the receptionists. I don't know why Ibis think that that their customers want so much music (?) and at that volume.

« Old hotel in need of some TLC »

We chose this hotel because it's across from the Eurostar station. We were only in Brussels for one night and this seemed like a convenient option. While the rate was good, the hotel itself is rundown and the area is seedy. Outlets didn't work in the room, towels were paper thin, you can hear the outside noise in the rooms all night, many people loitering around outside hotel day and night, room not very clean upon arrival. The breakfast was a pleasant surprise, but other than that - the hotel was a disappointment.

« Good experience with bad moment. »

The hotel met my expectations.....only flaw it is located in an area frequented by thieves and drug dealers. I was resting in the lobby on the evening of july 27th, around 11 pm, and when I got up to go to my room, my small backpack, which I had on the floor, was missing......fortunately nothing really important was inside it...I reported the fact to the guy at the front desk. and he told me he could not access the security video cameras, at least to see how it had happened. He called the police for me, but they told me to go to the police station. Anyway, the following day I observed better who entered the lobby and honestly not all were guests of the hotel.......and outside, in the evening, strange people can be seen.....so beware!

Room is of a good size, is comfortable and quiet. However, my partner and I only eat a continental breakfast (croissant, yogurt and coffee); for this the price is exorbitant. Also, the music in the breakfast room is terrible.

I've stayed in many Ibis around the world, and this was probably one of the worse. Smelly corridors, dirty bathrooms, blood stains on the towels and bed sheets, and unhelpful staff. Avoid this hotel!

Hall light in my room didn't work. An elevator was hot as Hell. Baggage room is not convenient, as you can access it only via elevator. Also, it has an old automat, which doesn't give any change making you depending on available cash at the reception. Which is annoying, when you have a train in half an hour. We noticed people's hair on bathroom floor. It remained after the next "cleaning".
