We stay at this hotel quite a lot as it's convenient for visiting family in the area and very near to the motorway. The staff are always friendly and welcoming. The hotel is starting to look a bit tired in places but it's not expensive and the rooms are a decent size.

« Really basic facilities »

Booking was easy, checking in was fine, the staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel needs money spent on it. There was a smell (of damp possibly?) as you went up stairs. The room too had an odd smell. The shower was stuck on hot and the temperature wouldn’t adjust. Apart from this the room was clean, it was quiet and reasonably priced.

« Friendly staff, rooms could do with an update. »

Staff on reception were always friendly and helpful. Rooms could do with updating especially the showers that did not drain well and more lighting in the bathroom. Also need plugs next to the bed for mobile phones etc. Cleaners came in every day but could have been better. Breakfast had a great range but lacking in quality, especially the eggs and bacon. Pancakes were cold. Croissants were delicious. A good solid 2 star hotel.

Although we are a 2 star budget hotel, we appreciate the rooms could do with some updating, we have just painted all the rooms over the last 12 months and hope to make some further small improvements over the next 12. Some rooms do have plus by the beds, extension leads can be obtained from reception for ones that don't. I will ask the maintenance team to check the shower, as this is not usually an issue, thank you for bringing it to our attention. The bacon and eggs are usually of good quality, I do however appreciate that in some backs of bacon there can on occasion be very fatty pieces, I will ask the team to be more cautious and in future through this away.. the eggs are all free range, perhaps they had not be cooked as good as we usually do, sorry for this. We serve the pancakes cold but they can be put into the toaster to heat them up if required. I'm pleased that you enjoyed the croissants and found the team friendly and helpful. « Good location suited our needs »

Hotel stay was great but wouldn't recommend the online check in as the amount secured from our account was double the cost of the room. This was not explained during the online check in process I did ring customer service and it is apparently in case you put charges onto your room. Fine if you are booking one hotel but not so good if you are booking more. As regular travellers we currently have around 9 hotels booked for an upcoming European trip thankfully we did not check in on line! Hotel great, breakfast excellent, staff very helpful and friendly. Welcome was fine, room is small but fine. Noisy, as we were on the motorway side. Exceptionally hot room! My biggest complaint, it was just ridiculous.

« Very satisfied, staff were very helpful »

My daughter was having an operation the day we arrived and we did not know what time she would be discharged. Staff were very helpful with obtaining taxis explaining how we could access the hotel late in the evening, arrangements for food, extra pillows for her. We had to bring our two dogs with us and this was no problem the staff were obliging in advising us where to walk them, they could not have been more helpful. The customer service was excellent, we were even allowed to have our dogs with us whilst we ate our meals

The hotel is looking very tired. In our room (212) the carpet was filthy, the curtains had holes in them, there were cigarette burns on the furniture and the smoke detector had been pulled out from the ceiling and had a plastic bag covering it.

It was an easy hotel to stay in for us as it is local to family we were visiting. The fact you can take the dog to breakfast and sit in the same area but in the lounge and not the restaurant was a real plus as we cannot leave our dog alone in the room. It made it a relaxing and enjoyable stay.

« Ideal stopover off M6 »

We stopped here to break the journey overnight between Somerset and Edinburgh. The hotel is just off the M6, so we didn't have to do any extra mieage to get to it. Everything was good. The staff were helpful and friendly.
