« After many stays at various Ibis hotels, this was the most dissapointing experience »

Hot water was "brown", varoius excuses were offered, and this was clearly a problem experienced before, some thought it had prevoiusly been fixed others simply made excuses for the rooms not having been in use recently. In addition the wi fi, which showed as working, was not. this was not discovered until after we left but as a consequence, if I had received a message e mailed to me I would have stayed a further day and saved a number of phone calls and saved some inconvenience.

« Room too cold »

I usually stay at IBIS São João, because of my work (it's near IPO Porto) and the last 2 times..the room was too cold - 17ºC! I tried to turn on the AC at maximum 30ºC and the only thing that the AC made was cold wind. This last 2 times I talked with the receptionist, but next time I will write a formal complaint. I know it's a 2 stars Hotel, but nevertheless It's not normal to have a room so cold when the temperature outside is about 114-15ºC!

« Lovely two night stay »

Difficult to find my sat nav is still going round in circles.! but eventually well worth the effort. Plenty of reasonably secure parking and a clean comfortable hotel room with a comfortable bed. Air conditioning worked well as we were there in a hot spell and could not have slept without it. Breakfast was buffet style with plenty of choice and freshly squeezed oranges from the electric gadget on the breakfast bar. The hotel is on the top floor of a shopping centre adjacent to a hospital and access to the shopping centre is from a lift in the hotel. The top floor in the shopping centre is full of reasonably priced restaurants with plenty of choice for all tastes. I purposely chose this hotel as it was out of the centre with free parking and excellent transport links into the Centre where driving/parking would be an absolute nightmare. The metro is only eighty yards from the Hotel and is 3 euros for a full day pass. I would certainly stop there next time I visit Porto

The staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was of proper size, the cleaning was good although because of the configuration, there was a faint smell of urine when sitting at the toilet and the window could not be close.

The hotel personell are very helpful - with restaurant recommendation and reservation, calling taxi, etc. The room is nice too However, the heat at room 201 did not work - not a big problem for me, but can be a problem when the winter comes. Also I miss eggs to the breakfast.

Travelling with wife and two young children. You could tell that this Ibis is older than the ones I've been to more recently. But it was a nice experience. Not fantastic, but nice. Very utilitarian.

Very good option of lodging in the city of Porto. Good service, comfort, great location. The only caveat was the room temperature was set to 25 ° C, leaving the room warm even when turned off at night.

Ibis Porto Sao Joao is located inside a maket center, what makes it difficult to find, specially when you arrives out of opening hours. The rest is absolutely fine, nice welcome, 24h service, easy acces by metro, good location when you go to he university and cleanliness
