« Enjoyable stay spoilt by potential fire hazard in our room 210 which was not acknowledged or dealt with adequately. »

We enjoy staying at this hotel and this year was even better being in a Superior room for five nights, BUT on Thursday 20th, at 10.30 am the hairdryer would not stop, I could not find the number for reception so I looked on the information card but the reception number was not clear until I had read all about the service being on you if problems were not sorted. Eventually, under 'connections' (which I thought meant internet) I saw the number and dialled reception three times with no response and on fourth ring at 10 40 am the person said she was on her own but would get someone to come up. No-one appeared for 30 minutes (at 11.10 am). Meanwhile the hairdryer was getting hotter and hotter, we were very stressed but wanted to go out so my husband went down to reception, very cross because we had no response and we wanted to leave the room but were afraid to. He came back with some sticky tape to hold the switch down but by that time a lady arrived who knew the problem, but couldn't stop it until my husband arrived with the tape and a temporary fix was made. This all took 30 minutes. What gave us more stress was NO-ONE mentioned anything about the situation. No-one apologised or even acknowledged what had happened. No mention was made of this incident at check-out. Your policy of 15 minutes to rectify situations and then service on you, was not implemented.

Nice hotel and friendly efficient staff. Right next to a metro stop about 10 minutes into the centre of town. Only problem was arriving after the shopping centre had closed with no indication how to get to the reception. Found an ibis sign in the multi storey car park but that only led to a locked entrance.

Room was not cleaned properly, as well as the bathroom with a melt inside. Maid did not care about that after I told it to her. As a gold member we didn't reveive welcome drink which should be obligatory.

Although the room are a little bit smaller than other ibis I stayed, I could say that the rooom are clean the wi-fi is ok. I would have preferred one or two towels more because one for each person could not be enough. The breakfast is good and it gives you a good choice between sweet and salty foods.

The room was clean and quiet, the breakfast excellent as they provided us gluten-free rolls and muffins (my wife is celiac) and the location was excellent with easy access to key highways and a mall downstairs with plenty of restaurant selections.

« Great for business travel »

Room was clean and tidy and the hotel staff were friendly. The only negative was the amount of time it took to get a coffee from the self-serve machines in the dining room. The food was good. Otherwise, this was a perfect hotel for my business stay. It was a 10 minute walk to the University building where my meetings were and is on the metro line, so getting into downtown Porto was easy.
