Good central location. Loved the free jelly beans available 24/7 from the machine at reception. Decent sized rooms, comfortable and quiet. Enjoyed the meal at the restaurant too. Great service from the staff.

« Great hotel! »

We stayed 2 nights in a Superior Room, 1 night on the way around New Zealand's Northland and 1 night on our return. Spotlessly clean room with a beautiful comfortable bed, free Wi-Fi (if you're an Accor member, which is free to join) and so central to shops, restaurants and tourist attractions. Staff were very friendly and helpful and the price was very reasonable we thought. So quiet too. We didn't eat in the Hotel's restaurant, so cannot make any comment there. Take note that if you have your own car (we had hired one) there's no parking, other than valet parking, which is $30 a time. Otherwise, you need to find your own parking. There is brief parking at the front to unload luggage which can take 2 cars, or perhaps 1 large one. On our last night's stay we needed to use the room until 4pm as we had a late flight, and for a nominal charge the staff were most obliging in allowing us to use it until then. We really appreciated that. All in all a really lovely experience.

« Overall but check out service was poor »

Everything expected or exceeded my expectation but the checkout service was poor. I booked through FCM & all expenses were to be covered - accommodation & meals. When I tried to check out Friday morning Kunal said accommodation was covered but couldn't see the meals had been (He was very pleasant & friendly though).He said they would ring FCM to find out. I came back at 3pm & I was told that FCM had not returned their phone call & I had to pay for everything!! Which came to $1300. Very disappointing your staff did not follow this up - they had 8 hours to do so. Unfortunately, I had a taxi waiting to take me to the Airport so had no time to try and sort this. I was rung Saturday afternoon at 4.14pm and told that FCM had got back to Novotel later on Friday & they would cover everything. I was then asked for my Visa card number so they could refund. Annoying Novotel found out Friday afternoon but took 24 hours to advise & refund me off this! The most annoying part of all of this was the blase & emotionaless response from the young lady who served be on Friday afternoon & then call on Saturday afternoon.

Fine as always I have found with AccorHotels. However, what do I need to do in order to stop being given a shower/bath combo? Horrible, inconvenient, uncomfortable and dangerous. Can’t you have some sort of preference system like airline frequent travellers have where I can elect preference for window/aisle, etc?

I arrived at 12:20am and went up to my room after checking in. My room had not been cleaned from the previous guest and bed unmade (dirty sheets still on). I had to go back down and was given a new room pretty swiftly. Not a great experience at that time of day. Bit clumsy.

« Fantastic hotel in a great location.. bed is a bit of a let down though »

Great service, great hotel and facilities in a great location. Only thing was that my bed was very uncomfortable, bit sag in the middle so had a sore back the next day. Maybe just my room though.

Though it was a short stay in Wellington Novotel, We had a good relax time here. The facilities are good, beds are comfortable, breakfast isdelicious, and most of all, we got the outstanding service at this hotel.
