hotel is good... but for tourist and using public transport, it not that convenience...need to walk 10-15 minutes to get to the bus stop that direct to Venice...nice welcome amenities for accor gold member and staff very friendly and helpful especially at the counter

Stay was ok and reasonable location. Hotel is a little tired and in need of some refurbishment. There was a conference the morning of our stay which resulted in items running out at breakfast whilst staff were busy taking trolleys of juice and croissants to the conference. In room kettle leaked which resulted in electricity shorting and no TV for an hour whilst waited for repair man. No kettle or coffee overnight and following morning

Unfortunately our hotel stay at the Novotel Venezia Mestre Castellana wasn't as great. Our air conditioning in our hotel room kept ticking and therefore kept us up all night. During check out I mentioned it to Andrea at the reception. And I couldn't believe it but he didn't even acknowledge what I said! No apologies for the inconvenience and our experience. I mentioned it again to him and told him that I couldn't believe that he ignored my bad experience. He finally mentioned in the end that he would mention it to the manager. I also asked him for the manager to contact me about the issue. We have checked out a week ago and I am still waiting to hear back from the hotel! On top of that we needed a couple pages printed for our next part of our trip. There was no paper by the printer for guests. I raised the issue and Andrea mentioned that we couldn't print there anymore that we would need to send it to him at the reception via email and that he would print it then. We did... but unfortunately he couldn't help us with that either... We have had good experiences in the past at Novotel hotels but our stay in Venice did not meet the Novotel service which we received at other locations. Very disappointed!

« A good place to stay when visiting Venice »

The rooms here are spacious comfortable and well equipped. The staff are excellent and the hotel facilities all that can be desired. The restaurant suits everyone and seems particularly favoured by children. They have introduced a board at the entrance with, " the menu choices," an these show the standard of cooking at its best. Travel to Venice is easy, cheap and quick by public bus, tickets from the hotel.

Novotel Venezia Mestre Castellana After ordering wine, beer and soft drinks for my party at the bar I asked for a glass of tap water. This was refused. I was informed that the only water available was bottled water. As I, along with an ever increasing number of people, refuse to buy bottled water on environmental grounds, I asked for an empty glass and went to my room on the 5th floor and filled the glass with tap water. I complained at reception about this policy, pointing out that following a number of high profile tap water verses bottled water campaigns, in the UK it is now normal and accepted to ask for tap water in restaurants, bars and hotels. The member of staff on reception pointed out that the hotel no longer stocked plastic water bottles but the only water available was bottled water in glass bottles and tap water was not available as the hotel had to make money from selling bottled water. I should also point out that every restaurant/bar that we visited whilst in Venice offered tap water when requested without question. The only exception to this was the Novotel at Mestre. For an organisation that claims to be environmentally friendly I believe that this policy is misguided and definitely not environmentally friendly.

« Almost perfect except breakfast and pool »

Friendly customer service, nice and clean atmosphere. Breakfast was quite simple, employees didn’t paid enough attention to empty plates (ran out of ham, cheese, scramble eggs, watermelon etc). A big disappointment were pool opening times from 11.30 am until 20 pm. Why couldn’t quests especially children enjoy pool from early morning until dark? Mainly people are visiting Venice to see the city or make business during the daytime and they really can’t use the pool. What’s the point of having pool after all?

This is the second year we have used this hotel and our second visit confirmed our good rating of this hotel. The rooms are spacious comfortable and well equipped. The staff are first class. The pool is well used by residents and especially their children. As a result the hotel is popular with families and with tour groups. Within a few hundred metres of the hotel there are buses to Venice (Piazza Roma), cost 1.50 Euro each way, tickets available from the hotel. The cooking in the restaurant is always good, sometimes exceptionally so. The range of dishes on offer is adequate for a stay of a few days but it is often extended by a few dishes, "Off the menu", on a board displayed at the entrance to the restaurant. While these are not cheap, they display the restaurant's cooking at its best. As a result, we ate in the hotel most evenings rather than use the excellent range of cafes and restaurants nearby in Mestre. We had no children with us but it appeared that what was on offer in the children's menu was well received. In summary, then, a good hotel, a busy hotel, where the staff cope admirably and the clients seem happy.

Very good and gentil hotel staff especially Mr. Michelle in the reception who gives us full great service, help and support over our stay to discover Venizia as well as road map to facilitate our daily visit program , visit other place as Murano , Burano , San Marco place , Roma place, Rialto ... We enjoyed our stay in Novotel and we would like to thank Mr. Michelle for his daily support and hopefully we'll come back soon to visit Venizia again. In general great hotel service ( room, reception, restaurant, swimming pool, LIDL supermarket near to the hotel as well as Bus station , Taxi ...).

Great stay! Clean and friendly hotel. Staff were very helpful especially with advice about visiting Venice. One suggestion to improve would be to open the swimming pool earlier than 11.30am!

We enjoyed our stay, rooms are a little dated the fridges didn't work and had to be covered with towels over night as the lights in both room on the fridges kept flickering on and off during the night The swimming pool is freezing ...... We suffered terrible tiger mosquito bites from the surrounding areas around the hotel Other than that we had a good stay
