I had a dream to wake up at Grand hotel Sopot and go out to the balcony in the morning after reading a book "Grand" by Janusz Leon Wiśniewski. From the first step this was a miracle! As a birthday present I got a room with a huge terrace: watching sunrise with a cup of coffee - that was even more than I've dreamed! The staff was great: as if they were waiting only for us to arrive. Faboulous breakfast, Nice SPA with amazing views! Everything was great! I even cannot decide what I didnt like about my stay =)

I loved the location of the hotel, especially it being beach front. However, housekeeping could be improved. We walked on the beach so inevitably some sand ended at the entrance of our room when we switched out from the outdoor footwear to the bedroom slippers. The sand was never cleared even after I swept it into a neat pile and left it by the door. On the day we checked out (5 days later), the pile of sand was still there. The toilet was ridiculous also. The glass door could hardly open and when you showered, the water would leak out of the bath area and flood the area near the bathtub. Also, fresh towels in the room were threadbare and stained. Hardly the kind you would find in a 5 star hotel. I consumed a bottle of diet Pepsi from the mini bar. The price list in the room was 3 zolty but I was charged 9.76 zolty. It was my mistake for not checking my bill carefully as I was in a rush to go to the airport. 6.76 zolty difference is not a huge sum but it speaks volumes about the honesty of the hotel, in terms of the pricing it offers. A pleasant surprise though ... I was given a complementary bottle of wine as it was my anniversary,

Stay was enjoyable. We thought we had the Charles De Gaulle suite booked in advance. I even called a few days before our arrival and was assured "you have the nicest room in the hotel". We instead had another room, 330, assigned to us at check in. We were able to switch to the De Gaulle suite for two of our nights. The air conditioning did not work properly, but room was lovely. When we moved to Room 330 for our last night, we slept better, because the air conditioning worked in that room.

I wanted to show my family and husband polish Baltic Sea after some research I decided to stay in Sofitel Grand Hotel Sopot. Our experience in hotel was fantastic we stayed in one on the busiest city but we did experience calmness the hotel and stuff offered us more than what we expected. The historical hotel with renovated touch delicious breakfast beautiful private beach and big garden for children to run and adults to have chance to sit down and enjoy the view. Our apartment was spacious clean and comfortable We have a wonderful memories from our visit thanks to hotel and people who work there We are looking forward to come back

WE had a fabulous timing staying at the hotel. The room was lovely and the hotel facilities were lovely. We especially enjoyed the private beach area and being able to order food and drink from our seats, and also the bar where we spent two wonderful evenings drinking and listening to music. The hotel's facilities are superb, the location is ideal. The only problem we had was with the front desk. The first one came when we inquired about yoga at the front desk. The staff person told us where to meet, but failed to inform us that you needed to book a reservation ahead of time. When we showed up we could not join the group. The second check-out was in check out. It took us 25 minutes to check out. When we were next in line to check out the staff person went to help another guest who had a question. This was very frustrating. Once we finally were able to speak with the staff person she said that we had not left a deposit for house charges. I was able to show her on my phone that indeed we had made such a deposit. She had the most difficult time processing my credit card. This has never happened in any other hotel, restaurant, or shop. As a result we had to run to the train station to make our train back to Warsaw. I would encourage that the staff at the front desk receive better training.

the maid walks in couple times into the room without knocking or asking first the bartender outside sits the guests as per his own convenient arrangement ignoring the guests requests the waitress leaves the menus and doesn't come back for half an hour spa amenities and swimming pool don't seem to be clean or updated considering the hotel ranks

« A relaxing respite after a frustrating travel experience. »

After being delayed out of Gdansk to Amsterdam, I was provided with a 2-night stay at Sofitel Grand Sopot while I waited for my departing flight. The reception staff was professional and kind and the bartenders kept the lounge open for those of us arriving late from the airport. I was provided a lovely, spacious corner room with a balcony overlooking the garden and the beach. The view, even at night, was breathtaking. The room furnishings were quite comfortable, and the king size bed was a dream to sleep in! The bathroom was large, especially for European standards, and the toiletries provided were top-notch. After a pleasant sleep, I breakfasted on a lovely variety of meats, cheeses, fruits, eggs, sausages, croissants, and crepes. Quite satisfied, I spent my entire day on a lounge chair in the private beach area, enjoying the sun and the sound of the waves. The beach area waitstaff were busy going to and fro, making sure everyone was well supplied with food and drinks. Even thought the city centre was a short walk away, I decided to have dinner in the hotel's Art Deco restaurant. It was a great decision! After a glass of wine, I devoured the pasta with mixed mushrooms and truffles. It was devine! With an early departure back to Gdansk in the morning, the hotel arranged for my taxi, and it was waiting for me when I checked out. All in all, this 2-night delay could not have more delightful!
