I wouldn't stay again booked for 2 people to stay in the room and only had 1 towel the bed was very uncomfy and only had 1 pillow it was very uninviting both in the room and entrance was nothing like the pics at all the shower hell that was hanging up was filthy and what looked to be mouldy

Perfect for one night in Northampton. Hotel and room was very clean, bed was comfy. However, only 1 toilet roll provided which was not enough. Also very noisy in our room as we had a joining door, we could hear the people in the next room quite clearly.

Hotel doesn't have its own car park although there is a municipal car park attached. Parking is not cheap, nor are there any discounts for hotel residents but, it is convenient. The hotel is ideal for those that want to take a stroll into town. Rooms are clean and quite spacious if rather plain. The shower is large but changing the water temperature was impossible. Towels felt really cheap and were very thin. In fact they were also very abrasive, more like sandpaper than a towel. They have to be the worst towels I have ever used in a hotel, bar none! And...I have stayed in many hotels during my business career so I know a little about what is acceptable and what is clearly not. One particularly annoying episode was when a supervisor knocked on the door on my first day and then barged in whilst I was sleeping stating that she wanted to check that the room had been cleaned. Common courtesy dictates that she should have waited before barging straight in. The rooms are in a corridor and because the doors are fitted with a large spring they make a lot of noise and this reverberates along the corridor into other rooms. It happens in hotels but this appeared worse than I have experienced before. The choice for breakfast was good, however, the quality was not great. Bacon was dry and full of fat and the rest of the food can only be described as luke warm. Things have moved on with buffet breakfasts but the Ibis in Northampton don't appear to have learned any lessons. With competition for breakfast right on the doorstep and considerably cheaper, I would have thought this was an area that needed more attention. Most travellers equate a good quality breakfast with a pleasant stay. If you are going to charge premium money for a cooked breakfast please ensure that it is edible. In summary, if you are looking for an inexpensive hotel in the centre of Northampton and don't need to park your car then I think the the Ibis is a good choice. But if I came again, I would book the room and get my breakfast elsewhere, there is a cafe just opposite and more within 200m or so. Finally if I was advising a friend I would say if you have a car and have no need to walk into town then there are other choices and you will probably save money.

After paying my bill on arrival for the full three nights it was very frustrating not to be able to get my invoice until after the third night. I feel that this is very bad customer service. Reception is always very busy on check-out. Therefore, having paid the hotel in full on arrival, guests should be able to get an invoice straight away

I am very sorry to read your comment and to find your opinion on our customer service to be subpar due to not being able to receive an invoice upon arrival. We provide our guests with their receipts immediately after payment. However, a VAT invoice contains a list of the goods/services provided by us against your payment and it is only valid at the check-out date. Otherwise, it is not a proof of stay, as the date of issue of the invoice will not match the check-out date. Naturally, this is hotel dependent, and we can provide you with an additional deposit receipt from our system at check in, but as I mentioned, it will not be a fully completed invoice. Furthermore, I understand if you do not want to wait at reception during check-out to get your invoice, but please be advised that this is not necessary, as we operate a fully digital program, which automatically sends you the VAT invoice by email. It is an environmentally friendly method, which greatly reduces paper consumption in Accor properties. This is in alignment with 21 other practices with our company's commitment to our planet. By all means, we understand that some of our guests might need a physical copy of their invoice and we are more than happy to waive the digital procedure in these rare cases. 4am rowdy guests woke us up. Security came promptly but took 20/30 mins to deal with things and slamming doors so that was our sleep done. Breakfast by 9am needed topping up from forks to food and no it wasnt that busy. Bathrooms very outdated.
