The hotel facilities are very good and clean. However, the air conditioning is appoling. We were during the heat wave that hit Paris, and the hotel lobby could be hotter than the street. The air conditioning does not work in the rooms either and the worst thing is that nobody seems to care. We requested a review and nothing happened. The nights were very bad due to the heat. The answer is that we should not open the curtains, because the sun could heat the room a lot.

When we arrived to check in at 16.15 (check in time is 14.00 hrs), our room wasn't ready and we had to wait for 2 hours to check in! Once we arrived at our room, the beds were badly made, crinkly and messy. The shower only poured out hot water, too hot to stand under and we couldn't change it. There weren't enough paper cups to make tea and we had to call to ask for more towels. We booked a suite for 4 people but the amenities were sufficient for 2.

I thought every single member of staff I spoke with was friendly, courteous, polite and in large part helpful. I felt and am suspicious that I was overcharged. I booked online via Accor Hotels direct BUT you offer a discounted rate to guests booking with Booking.com and Expedia - I don't think that is fair - I know you do - Isaw the paperwork!

It was lovely. Everyone was very helpful and accommodating. It was a pleasure to have English speaking staff, as my French is very rusty. I had mistakingly made an extra reservation and it was cancelled at the desk, with no issues.

« Access to transport should be considered »

We were on our Europe family trip and we stayed here for our France Itinerary. As leisure trip, this hotel is not near a Metro station which is the main and preferred transport of tourists willing to take public transport. Another thing is the engagement with the cleaning persons in the morning. They always opened our door (using our keys) without knocking at the door when they will start to clean even iif we are still inside the room. We tried hanging the do not disturb sign but they always open our door.

Room, cleanliness, breakfast restaurant and facilities was fine. BUT... They allow dogs into the restaurant. That is a no-go. Personel in restaurant and bar didn't speek a lot of english (none to poor) AND was not too service minded.

« Just what we needed »

Very quiet, good bed, good bathroom, good breakfast, friendly personnel, good parking garage. The environment itself was not so "fresh", things looked a bit worn out, but that didn't bother us. Examples: the seats for breakfast had worn fabric, the walls had stains, there were a lot of crumbs in the breakfast room, someone was cleaning the fruit juice machine in front of the customers, dragging a huge bag full of trash through the breakfast room,... That's not very attractive to look at while you're eating.

« Need for improvement in maintanance »

The room has a good size. It is clean in the room , but the toilet is not properly clean. Also lack of a toilet brush. The hotel is not very clean in the lobby and all other areas need maintance. We appreciated free minibar and coffee. The price was huge for how It looks.

Wish they took a look at the rooms and fix it before guest arrives. The water at the bathroom sink clogged for hours before it drains, every time I opened it. The Air condition was pretty bad and they gave us a table fan. Did not expect this at this hotel given their price. Also, the TV remote hardly worked. Wish they fixed it all.

« Below par for Novotel - a bad end to a lovely holiday. »

It was not pleasurable. The front desk AND the room service hung up on us when we tried calling on a number of occasions. No explanation was given - they just slammed the phone down. I then phoned and spoke French and they didn't hang up. When my french was inadequate I asked if they spoke English and they immediately slammed the phone down again. When I went to reception to ask why this was happening I was told there was a problem with my phone. Firstly, there should not be a problem and secondly, if there is a problem they should tell me they cannot hear me or even come to the door to find out what my request is. They certainly should not be hanging up the phone. I felt they were rude and disrespectful to me and I also felt there was animosity due to me being (or certainly speaking in) English. The room was also too hot., We had the air conditioning on maximum and the room was still uncomfortable. All four of us had to sleep in our underwear and above all the covers and the room was still an uncomfortable temperature. The bathroom had issues wit the shower. There was no strip at the bottom of the shower screen, so all the shower water fell straight onto the floor, creating a giant pool. We had to use many of our towels to clean this up but were only given 1 additional towel and told there was one more in the cupboard. This still wasn't enough. The shower fixture was also broken so the shower wouldn't stay in place - very frustrating! The bathroom sink was also blocked which meant that water wasn't going down the sink and was pooling in the sink - not very hygienic. There was also a cracked fixture below the sink which was unsightly, sharp and again, unhygienic. All in all it was a very disappointing stay, especially as we have previously enjoyed staying and Novotel hotels in the past and had booked this as a treat at the end of our holiday. Instead it left a sour taste in the mouth.
