Room was really perfect and clean. The only remarks i wish to give are: 1. I had some difficulties in water warmth regulation, as the temperature was not really responding to the one I tried to set 2. Maybe it would be a nice idea to include a kettle, as I couldn't make any tea nor infusion

- Initially given a room with a damaged bathroom; - Coffee machine in the room worked poorly; - I was not given the a late check-out option (on 11th May I was told at the reception desk that all rooms are occupied, on 12th May I was told - there are available rooms, but I have to pay as for a full day).

The room was very comfortable and we appreciated the peaceful atmosphere after the Seminar we had. The bathroom was well equipped and spacious. We enjoyed the warm welcome of the concierge and the reception. To improve: - the Krupps coffee machine was tricky to use and we had to waste two coffee pods - bedroom cleaned late (around 4.30pm) - maybe not enough house keepers? - the rain shower not working properly

« Great facilities, friendly staff, all overshadowed by the party outside my window »

First of all the hotel looks great - well done on the refurbishment. My issue with my stay was the obnoxiously loud festival that took place right outside my window until 2am. For reference I was at the hotel on the evening of May 10th. Prior to booking no one informed me that a festival blaring music until 2am would be held right outside my window. This was an event the hotel was aware of well in advance as the staff knew all about it when I asked what was going on, and not informing me of this prior to my booking is quite dishonest - I would have never stayed at the hotel had I known what was occurring outside. I appreciate that you cannot control what occurs outside the walls of your hotel, but you CAN and SHOULD be honest with your guests/potential guests so they can choose accommodations accordingly. Waking up at 7am to catch a train after not sleeping is not exactly what I would consider a relaxing stay. You have a beautiful facility, but I will not be back given the lack of disclosure prior to me making my booking. Best, Zach M. +1…

Overal nice hotel in good location.It is only few things can be improved.First I think business center is a must.At the bar you can drink and they provide nice small snack with your drink,but if you want let it say salad you need to go to restaurant.This is different conception from other hotels.Dome one can like someone did not.Food at restaurant is good.The service is ok,but sometimes staff try to do more then perfect and fail in small details.But this realy not annoying and did not change rating of this hotel.Overal I was satisfied with stay at Sofitel Europe in Brussels!

« Terrible restaurant for dinner. »

Went for dinner on Sunday evening. It was the worst meal I have ever experienced in my travels. Couldn’t eat the entree and what little I did eat made me ill that night. The staff in the bar and in restaurant for breakfast, excellent. The room was nice after we requested a change due to noise.

« Nice hotel, very good breakfast, but no sound isolation with an annoying neighbour »

As said before: the hotel is nice and clean. The breakfast is really great. However, on the second day of my stay my room was cleaned only after 6 p.m.; so once I returned after a tiring day it was just being cleaned and I decided to wait. Plus there is no sound isolation, so you hear a lot of noises, especially from the room you share a door with. The neighbour I had in that room with a common door was quite annoying, e.g. shouting loud into a telephone for about two hours starting around 22:00... I heard many people knocking on walls, even if they probably have not shared a door... Then early morning loud vomitting, singing, listening to music. As I had to wait due to the cleaning taking place next day I actually went to the reception to report this, where it was also not so clear what could be done in this case. In the end I was told that the person will be warned and if the problem returns I should let them know again. Instead I was trying to plug my ears really strongly as I desperately needed some sleep. A more minor thing: this may be personal preference, but I found it strange that the bed had a big thick blanket on it below the bedlinen. I have never had a bed like that anywhere before I found it strange and more difficult to sleep on.

« A comfortable stay for our last night in Belgium »

After returning to Brussels from a couple of nights in Ghent and then Rotterdam, I decided to book the Sofitel to finish our holiday off in style. Although the renovation work is still being finished off in the lobby, the hotel was nicely decorated, and I was particularly impressed with the refurbished bar area. Our room was comfortable with a nice view over the square, and we had a fine night before catching the Eurostar home the following day. The only slight negative is that as a Le Club AccorHotels Gold Member, my status didn't seem to count for anything. I have always been well looked after in Accor's Pullman branded hotels that I've stayed at, almost always receiving an upgrade, as well as welcome gifts and the standard welcome drink, but this (my first stay at a Sofitel) saw no upgrade (although the next grade of room was still available to book on the website after I'd checked in), no welcome gift, and I even had to ask for our welcome drink vouchers as they were not presented at check-in. Therefore when booking in future, if there is a choice of Pullman or Sofitel in the area I'm visiting I will probably stick with Pullman.
