Once again, the team at Novotel Queenstown have performed excellently. My wife and I really enjoy visiting this hotel for its location, right by the lake and gardens, while also being in the town as well. Looking forward to returning again.

« needs a facelift »

I was first checked into a room that was really poorly maintained (tons of scuff marks on the door, paint chipped etc) and then went into the bathroom to find mould.I was offered another room that faced the street and declined, and was eventually moved to a room in the newer wing that was cleaner, but that was about it. The mattress sunk so much when I went to sleep that I got really little sleep, but that could have also been because I could hear ever step from the person in the room above me. I have never been so happy to check out of a hotel. I have since returned as my company booked me a second, non-refundable stay and its slightly improved as I was given a room on the top floor. Same issue with the bed however. The two positive things about this property are the location and the staff - everyone has been very helpful in trying to rectify a negative experience. Lastly, it may seem insignificant, but I was enrolled to your loyalty program without my permission. I'm annoyed on two fronts because a)I didn't give my permission (in fact on my second check-in I looked to see if this was something hidden I signed off on, but no, you actually have to opt-in) and b) more importantly for you, I am actually already a member via my personal email but no one bothered to ask me

We are in the planning for an extensive refurbishment and have engaged with an Architect which is requiring considerable time in the planning. We will also be replacing the beds over the next few months as we realize comfortable beds are a big part of the comfort and experience . We are glad to hear that our team was very friendly and our location suited you given we are in the very central and accessible to the waterfront. We will brief the team to firstly find out upon check -in if our guest are loyalty members , if not give guests the option to opt in/out from the free loyalty program , the team does try to enroll guests to enable them to use the free wifi only available to our loyalty members. At Novotel, we strive to provide a superior service experience for every customer; therefore your feedback is very important to us. Please rest assured that we are taking the appropriate measures to address your experience and prevent future occurrence. we requested an interconnecting room ahead of our stay..we know that it is subject to availability..we checked in.they said they gave us an interconnecting room at the 4th floor.great! we went up to the rooms only to find.out that it is interconnecting BUT the rooms are not beside each other.i think our room.is 421 and 423..there is a room.between us..so i went to reception and told them and they said there was a misunderstanding on the reseevation.."But it is interconnecting., she said....i think that was just a lame explanation.it is interconnecting but not beside each other...they could just have said sorry for the mix up..just a bit disappointed as we always stay in this hotel and refer it to family and afriends

« Lovely place to stay in Queenstown »

The room is clean and the view is beautiful. Very close proximity to town and the lake is amazing. The only very minor complain we have is with the jacuzzi: The water simply doesn't get hot enough. But otherwise we are very very happy with our stay.

« The stay was nice, but I lost a sentimental item. »

The hotel itself was nice enough, but unfortunately, I'm not stoked with the customer support I received. I left a soft toy fox in the bed of my room and called the reception less than 3 hours after I checked out (sadly we had already arrived back in Wellington, so I couldn't simply return to the hotel). The staff member I spoke to said that our room hadn't been cleaned yet, and he would notify the cleaning team and let me know ASAP. I had to follow it up, and long story short we kind of just got passed around a lot of different people with not much help.

« Room exceeded expectation, enjoyed complimentary drink and chocolates - thank you »

I felt our room had been upgraded as we had a lake view and were on the top floor, there were chocolates in our room, we went down and had some drinks in the bar and watched the All Black World Cup game. Our breakfast was fantastic, and great value using the Accor Club card. All staff were excellent. I only have one negative, and it is actually a positive that turned negative - we had a complimentary drink voucher (fantastic), so I ordered the beer I like (and had a few of these during the the rest of the night), but after it was served to me I was told my complimentary drink voucher did not include that particular beer I had chosen. This reversed the feel good factor I had up to that point, I was then shown a reduced drinks menu and said I would pay for the beer I actually preferred. I did use the voucher later, but it just wasn't the same then sadly. As I say I was still extremely pleased with our stay overall.
