« Well located near public transport »

The hotel rooms were aged needed updating but very clean with all facilities. The foyer was very smart and modern Checking in was made easy because of our early arrival, desk attendants were very helpful. Excellent view of Barcelona from the rooftop where the swimming pool is. We had a excellent breakfast and we could not complain.

The hotel is well located. Close to metro station (Glòries) and direct train to airport (El clot). Both stations have wheelchair access. It is just in front of Glòries commercial center- which was very convenient for entertaining kids (play ground, free big wheel in Super Drim store). Also the hotel has a small playground for kids with tablet, lego and Xbox. The hotel has a rooftop swimming pool. However, we could not really enjoy it as it was windy. On the bad side, my hotel booking was cancelled 2 hours before arrival (while we were in the train getting to the hotel). The explanation from the front desk was that they could not charge the credit card. The bank has suspected a suspicious transaction since the booking was made in April. The booking itself was non refundable 5 prior to arrival. I would have expected to get money withdrawn as soon as the booking is done or at least to get a notice earlier (as soon as the booking becomes non refundable). The receptionist kept saying they could not do anything as the hotel is full. After insisting and asking to talk to a manager, they managed to provide me a room as per the booking I made. Overall, apart from the check in experience, all was good. I usually like Accorhotels service and have spent up to 40 nights per year in Pullman / Novotel hotels in recent years. However, I will most probably not book again through Accorhotels website / app anymore. Traditional booking websites have been more professional in managing bookings.

Great hotel for family trip. Stayed there 7 nights. The lifeguard at the pool, Carlos I think his name is, is WONDERFUL with the children and with guests, always full of energy and saying hello... the kids loved him! The other swimming attendants don't compare at all to Carlos, he was great. Breakfast was really good for 10 euros and family 55 Euro deal was great too. Only thing I could suggest is locks for the bathrooms in the rooms otherwise will stay again for sure when in Barcelona. Really helpful front desk staff as well. Thanks for making our Barceona trip so nice.

I like the hotel and would stay here again. However, there are a couple of things that should be improved: (1) Mine was a business trip paid for by my university. Yet, curiously, after my university's credit card was charged for the room a tourist tax was applied separately. Why wasn't the tax charged at the same time as the room charge? Because it wasn't, I was stuck with personally paying the tax at check out and I can't reclaim it from my university because the financial year ended on 1 July while I was in Barcelona. (2) There was a strange reluctance by the hotel to help us arrange a taxi to go out in the evening. As a result, we waited unsuccessfully for half an hour, before someone from the hotel finally helped us to hail a cab. I've never stayed at any hotel where the process of getting a cab was so difficult. It's frustrating for female guests to encounter this sort of difficulty.

Hotel is lovely with striking views of the city from the beautiful rooftop pool area. We were upgraded to a suite, but this did not make up for the disappointment of not getting the city view room we had paid for. Instead of being at the top of the hotel with views of Barcelona, we were on the 12th floor with views of another building on one side and a building site on the other. Breakfast was really good with lots of choice, and the staff were attentive and friendly at reception.

I was very disappointed that I had to request a ice bucket(not offered) to cool drinks stored in the room mini bar - only to be told that the fridge does not cool only maintains temp. I can understand the explanation however, why would you restock liquids into the bar fridge at room temp in the first place knowing its going to take some considerable time to cool. This devalued the benefit offered at this Hotel of free drinks as a valued Accor Member. In addition, no acknowledgement of my birthday - Why would you ask when placing booking if you celebrating any special occasion

The hotel was just too busy and didn’t cope well. The staff were mostly lovely, especially the front desk. The room was ‘fine ‘ but the sofa bed was too small for my girls to share. The location was great with shopping/restaurants across the street but really too far from the centre.

It was a great experience we all loved it and specially the swimming pool . All of the team was very nice and understanding and helpful the rooms small but clean and the suite too and the breakfast was incredible . The location is wonderful it's near the metro station and next to a shopping center.

We enjoyed the hotel, but a few things happened that were unpleasant. One was we called housekeeping for more pillows and they never showed up, two was the shower head was very loose and kept falling down, and at one point fell and gave my eight year old daughter a split lip. It was not a great end to our holiday.

The Barcelona Novotel on Diagonal Avenue turned out to be the perfect choice for a great family vacation! Offering a great location -- across the street from a shopping arcade and two blocks from both a metro stop and a tram station -- and with friendly staff and more than adequate amenities, this Novotel earns our praise. Kids station in the lobby, free breakfast for kids, and a rooftop swimming pool. Staff was very helpful in guiding us on sights to see and getting a taxi large enough for family + baggage. would definitely stay here again.

Arrived early so left my bags in the store. Came back MANY hours later, and past normal check in time, to be told my room “wasn’t quite ready”. Then I was offered a drink on the house as means of apology ... the drink was the welcome drink provided to Le Club Silver members a matter of course. No “apology” drink as such. Note: I have never availed of the free welcome drink on any visit. Room cleanliness was not up to standard, and things like tissue box only having one tissue remaining and not having a spare toilet paper we noted. The front desk staff preferred to chat with each other instead of assisting guests. When, and only when, they were ready did they acknowledge me. I found this extremely rude an unsatisfactory. The room I was allocated was first after leaving the lifts. At first I thought “great location”, until in the quiet of night, directly behind the head of my bed was an almost continual whirring of the lift up and down, which made it difficult to sleep.

Had a great stay here. The staff where very friendly and helpful. The room was very bright and airy, very comfortable. Close to all the facilities one would need with a great shopping centre across the road. The hop on hop off bus stop was across the road to see all the sights Barcelona has to offer.
