All in all it as a great experience. I was very impressed that the staff paid attention to the request for an extra flat sheet for the bed I made when I checked in on-line. And, they kept providing the extra flat sheet throughout my stay. This may seem like a small matter, but it typically it's more difficult for me to only get explain what I mean by an extra flat sheet but also to have the staff continue to provide it throughout my stay - I usually have to ask repeatedly, especially when traveling in Europe - so thank you!

« New hotel close to Messe and mall »

It’s a new and modern hotel, totally meeting my expectation for this brand. Breakfast is fair, very close to the Messe and mall so very easy if you are here for trade show. I don’t like too much about the bed, it’s too soft and don’t like the material. Pillow is perfectly giving good support. My room is clean but they never fill up my shampoo from day 1 when it was empty.

« Room good but terrible food »

The room was nice although a bit pricey. Check in was very slow despite having checked in online nothing was ready and the credit card needed to be authorized again. In the room I was very happy about my welcome gifts as a gold member. However the food in the restaurant was bad - we were a big group with >10 people and most group members complained. The menu was not very extensive and there was only one vegetarian item, but more importantly, the food was bland and not tastey. Several members of the group received cold burgers. When they complained the waiter eventually apologized and offered a few extra drinks or desserts but then never showed up to actually take those orders. Later members of the group joining after the first ones had left still received subpar food and the waiter got less and less friendly. At the end a few drinks in the group (3 small drinks or so out of a group of 20 people over time) were unpaid since probably some group members forgot, but the waiter wasn't willing to discount anything of those and had another group member pay them. It is bad to receive bad food, but even worse to be promised something making it good which then isn't delivered. If you want to eat here, I don't recommend to stay here.

« Nice enough and convenient for work »

The room was good enough, spacious enough for me, and nice and clean. I did notice one day that my window had been opened and left open, which took me a little while to work out why my room was so cold. The breakfast was a pretty good selection, although the choice of food on the main restaurant menu wasn't such a choice. That was disappointing given the lack of other options around the hotel.

Stay was nice, good example of what the Novotel brand represents. All very professional. Staff were all smiles, even if my accent occasionally drew a small confusies look. Bar staff also deserve a mention, blonde haired guy currently on training did great and his manager showing him the ropes made sure everything went well.

During September and October I stayed at the Novotel Messe, Munich three times for a total of 15 nights. The staff are consistently friendly and helpful, the breakfast buffet is varied, fresh and appetizing. The rooms are spacious and clean. During my last 4-day stay in October I received an upgrade without having to ask. I also really appreciate the voucher for a free drink and the welcome note in the room. I regard this hotel a home away from home. The location is very convenient with a short bus ride to the S-Bahn, the Riem Arcaden shopping centre steps away, and the Riemer Park also steps away providing a green and quiet oasis.
