Hotel was decent. At checkout, the front desk staff would not give me the rate I booked. It was booked through the accor website, and I gave them all the booking information. They tried to make me pay 50% higher rate and were incapable of honoring the rate I booked.

« Just what we expected -- good solid hotel »

We wanted night in Caen at a safe location -- safe as in nothing goofy likely to happen -- and the Mecure fit the bill as expected. Staff wa fine (restaurant a little indifferent but got the job done) and the room was clean and quiet. Seemed like maybe a handicap room? We didn't need that but it was ok.

« A good location for Normandy D Day »

As always a warm welcome & comfortable room. Good quality bedding & towels. Tv & WIFI good reception & speed. We did not have breakfast on this occasion, but have done in the past & it is always very good value with plenty of choice. The staff are very efficient & nothing is too much trouble. This is also a good option for catching the early ferry & a packed breakfast can be ordered.

Enjoyable stay at the Mercure. We like the overall quality level and value for money achieved across the different hotels of the brand. This one is slightly overpriced for being relatively far outside of town (including tram lines being down at the moment which we have not been made aware of prior to our stay). Breakfast is nice, relatively wide choice. Our shower was clogged and room soundproofing could be improved. We only got 1 bottle of water in the room and 1 welcome drink (accor loyalty card) while staying with 2 people in the room. First time this happened.

Prices are naturally high on a weekend of Ascension with such a beautiful weather. All hotels in the area were sold out. You should not have a shower problem and we apologize for it. The work of the tramway is a huge project as it will be replaced by other. But it's coming soon. The loyalty card is nominative and actually the drink is for one person as indicated in the general conditions of sale. As always a warm welcome. Nice room with comfortable bed good bathroom facilities & wifi. Even though our checkintime was late evening we were offered dinner & welcome drink. Breakfast was well up to standard despite coach parties being catered for. We look forward to our next stay.

« Sorry stay! »

The hotel closed the restaurant the night we stayed and with the hotel being in the middle of huge roadworks it was difficult to consider walking to the nearest restaurant some 10 to 15 minutes away. That is if we wanted to negotiate the roadworks. If the hotel had informed us of the problems we would definitely stayed somewhere else! Be honest in future please. We have stayed in Mercure hotels many times over the years so this is not the norm

The stay in the hotel room was fine but why wasn't I told there would be no dining room available when the hotel is surrounded by extensive road works making it difficult to walk anywhere for a meal. This was very poor - I think it is incumbent on the hotel to let us know. I had plenty of other communications about what it would cost and speedy check in!!!

Very friendly staff & warm welcome. The receptionist personally checked that our room was ready. Very well appointed standard room with plenty of space. Comfortable bed , good quality bed linen. Free good wifi connection. Bathroom spotless with good shower & plenty of hot water. Could not fault.Buffet breakfast also plentiful despite presence of coach parties. Easy access for ferry at Ouisterham, 15 mins
