« Lovely apartment for a comfortable stay in The Hunter Valley »

We had a great few days staying at The Grand Mercure Apartments, at the The Vintage, Hunter Valley. The apartment was spacious, clean, with good kitchen self contained facilities, huge bathrooms (with bath), comfortable beds, lovely fireplace & 2 large verandas. Central location to explore the wineries. Good communication with staff about check in. Our second stay here & will come back.

Relaxing and enjoyable for the family. The townhouses are very modern and clean with heaps of room for a family. Kids loved the big beds and bathrooms and not forgetting the gas fire to huddle around with a hot mug of chocolate.We have stayed a various hotels in the Hunter valley but this is our favorite due to its location and swimming pool, outdoor BBQ and indoor kitchen. Home away from Home.

The quality of the room was excellent even though the driveway as a bit of a challenge. It is a pity that ACCOR doesn't have a restaurant on the site.

Sadly, the accommodation had many repairs that we suggest be checked. The fridge door was broken and did not close properly. It also was a ‘hidden’ fridge in such that it was inside a cupboard and that door was also broken and didn't attach to the fridge correctly. A full kitchen was in the unit which was fantastic, however no oven trays are provided therefore the oven is useless. We suggest some oven/baking trays be added to the kitchen. The gas hot plate main element had no hood cover and therefore is not able to be used. The tea/cofffe/hot choc that is provided was expired, expired early June. The ensuite had a horrible smell like sewerage- we think the plumbing needs to be checked and suggested this to reception staff who were not fussed. The main bathroom bath tap leaks and leaked all over the tiled floor. Lucky we noticed and put towels down to avoid the carpet getting wet! The carpet area in the lounge room was so dirty that we vacuumed the area ourselves. The second bedroom carpet was also dirty- fluff, feathers? And general grit. On check in we also received a letter that said “please take our your bins” of course we are happy to do this but guests should be informed where the bins are. We had to ask a permanent resident to help us and the bins were quite hidden and unaccessible. Finally, and most importantly, my husband, my 3 year old and I came home on Friday to Sydney with itchy eyes. Saturday morning we all woke up to bacterial conjunctivitis. The only common factor is the king bed that we all slept in and the towels the accommodation. This suggests that towels and bedding had not been washed in between guests. This is disgusting. We would really like some of our points returned in hopes we can book this accommodation again and have a much better experience. If you look at our account we try and go on a holiday every year and this time is quality family time that we choose to spend in accor accommodation. We are advocates for the accor vacation club and promote it to others. Im happy to have a chat over the phone if you would like any more details.

I love staying in the Hunter Valley, at the Grand Mecure. Unfortunately this time I was a little disappointed, the apartments were not as clean as usual, except the main glass doors, the rest of the windows were dirty, the door tracks were dirty, there was dust everywhere, the Wine Bottle Fridges didn’t work (Apartment 239). Access to the heated pools was hard, the code given very rarely worked. The Wi Fi was really weak and intermittent. Other than the above the stay was lovely as usual.

The apartment was in good condition, apart from some minor items (missing glasses, jug that did not work properly, kitchen chairs missing some pads on bottom of legs-very noisy on tile floor, and light not working in microwave). The development adjacent to the apartments was noted - will this have an ongoing adverse effect on the peace and quiet of the apartments?

3 travellers had to share one apartment for a brief overnight stay. The apartment was terrific and everything needed was supplied (including some nice Hunter Valley wines). The sofa bed was a bit lumpy for 110kg man
