Overall everything is ok. Staffs are friendly. I have found the hotel lobby and elevator are not clean. The room design is not safe and comfortable when there is a steps between the bed area and balcony. The room key suddenly did not work but the staffs are quite passive

We visited second time in Novotel Nha Trang because we had a really good memory with here. one thing that I want to mention was amenities were not fully set up in the room. Conditioner and Body lotion, bathrobe were not in the room when we checked in. but staffs fill them up quickly after we requested, so everything was fine. We are really appreciate all kind staffs, and especially, receptionist; Mr.Thang. He is professional and took care of us! Thanks to him, We spent unforgettable time with Novotel Nha Trang! Staff member Ann helped me a lot when I had a very bad taxi driver from airport to the Novotel. As I had visited Nha trang 15 times prior I knew the taxi driver was trying to rip me off trying to charge me double what is the normal price. Ann stepped in to diffuse the situation when concierge could not do anything to help me.. During our stay this year, the beach process and rules changed and not for the better. For the first few days we walked across the road to the beach where there was a novotel employee there to give out towels and to allocate beach sunbeds and sell cold drinks. He kept an eye on us, the Novotel guests and was there to help us if needed. This was a valued service. Then overnight everything changed. We walked across the rd to the beach to find a non novotel stall seller and no novotel help and instead were told in a rude manner "go back to the hotel to get your towels." So in the heat we walked back for towels then back to the beach.. Perhaps if something major like this is to change for the guests we need to be alerted to this change by a letter under our door. For days after I saw many frustrated novotel guests arrive at the beach without towels only to be told go back to the hotel foyer to get your towels. I have stayed at Novotel Nha trang 6 times over 10 years and every time the size of the beach area allocated to Novotel guests has shrunk. I was told this trip that Novotel are only allowed 24 beds. Also told that hotels further back from the beach are paying more money to reserve beach area for their hotel guests. Novotel hotel is a big hotel and to think they are only allowed 24 beds at any one time is not good. Many times we didn't get one of those 24 beds and had to lye on the sand in the sun. This is not a good thing and Novotel need to be careful to look after their guests as customers like me decide to stay at Novotel for the fantastic location, unobstructed beach views, good staff and beach access and umbrellas, towels and beach lounge usage. I worry it will come to a point where the constant new hotels are willing to pay more in rent for the beach space and novotel will be squeezed out altogether. A few years back we had a huge beach area and lots of sun beds. The communication about the beach towels being taken from the concierge was very poor. After I mentioned this to the front desk I noticed a small sign ( on our last day) that simply said "towels'. It was so small and not in a very prominent position that most guests missed it and went to the beach without towels and were forced to return to the hotel. Because of Ann and the other good quality staff I will book in again next time to stay at Novotel. I do hope they can resolve the ever shrinking beach asset and towel situation before my next holiday in Nha Trang in 2020.
