I was disappointed in my stay at Novotel Budapest Danube the carpets in the room 434 were filthy, dirty stains showed that this room had not bee properly serviced for some time. The front desk staff were aloof and unfriendly and often gave me the impression I was not wanted. The food in the restaurant was good but really expensive. We found places within a kilometre that had the same quality but at a much more reasonable price.

I was very disappointed by the cleanliness of the hotel when I stayed, the room carpet was filthy and although this hotel should be a key hotel in the chain because it’s position and view of the beautiful Parliament-building across the river it failed miserably to impress. The front desk staff were any thing but friendly and welcoming. We found the food in the restaurant to be excellent in taste but excessive in price to the other places where we ate. Overall my experience at this hotel was not good , I have stayed at Ibis hotels in the same hotel group which are cleaner the staff are more helpful and the stay has bee such that I would love to go again yet these hotels are not on the prime site position but make up for it in their hospitality

Friendly staff, clean room, good breakfast, excellent location. The only thing to be improved is the parking space. I had a place to park (at the hotel), but in the case of a higher demand for parking spaces, I do not thing that the hotel would have solutions to satisfy all the clients.

« Great time in Novotel Budapest Danube »

We had great time in Novotel Budapest Danube and will definitely recommend it. Location: very convenient location, 3 minutes walk from subway station. We arrived to Budapest by train and leaved by plain. We easily used public transportation both ways. And it is walking distance to most of the Buda side attractions as well as to Chain bridge and Pest side. Rooms: Good size, there were 4 of us with 2 11-years girls. Room was convenient, clean. The only problem we had - not enough power plugs to charge the phones. There were no USB plugs and only 3 regular power plugs, not quite enough for 4 phones and photo battery charge. Breakfast: We booked the rate with the breakfast included. I would recommend it. Breakfast was fresh, with good variety of food and drinks. Great start for the day. Staff: Helpful, welcoming, knowledgeable

Wonderful upgrade for our anniversary. Lovely views but poor placement of the TV obstructed the best of them. Reception very helpful and friendly. Very clean but the bed was a bit saggy. Floor covering needs replacing.

Friendly and welcoming hotel in central Budapest. We are a family of four and drove through Budapest from the UK. The car park is conveniently located in front of the hotel. It is easy to access from the motorway. The rooms are large enough to accommodate four, clean and quiet. Staff are friendly and helpful.

« The experience was not for a four star hotel. »

The overall experience was good but unfortunately the rooms were not as we expected to be for a four star hotel. There was dust, the cleaning ladies were rude and were entering the room without a notice. The room looks used and not maintained well. It looks like for the last five years nobody even thought about refreshing the paint or the carpet - they look awful...really. A little disgusting. The bathroom was in the same condition. The breakfast was really good. Another thing was the fact that we paid 15 euro per day for the parking.....In addition. This is ridiculous.

Excellent location, very good breakfast, our room was clean. Check in online is a big advantage. Wonderful image with Parlament Palace in the night and boats floating on the Danube. The bridges were iluminate spectacular.

Room facilities were simply bad and reminded me a lot of a motel: rusted basin, paper cups, cheapest instant nestle sticks, very uncomfortable shampoo/body. Very noisy from nextdoor due to poor soundproof according to my colleague downstairs(301) . Yes I know it is a basic room but I have been staying in many ACCOR brand and it does not match the name of Novotel. Location : OK. Riverside and 5 mins walk to metro, 2 stop to city center Staff and Breakfast: Good as it should be Next time I would prefer reccomend the Mecure in the Fashion Street. (where I had a nice stay in April)

Should be a three star, really; the interior walls are dirty, the bathroom looks outdated; breakfast decent; overall, the hotel does not have the stature of other Novotels (Vienna Hauptbanhpff fr example). I got there after 6 pm and they wanted to rip me off - to charge me 15 euros for parking although I parked 10 meters around the corner for free. After that I parked literally in front of the hotel by the river in Parkolo Park and Ride for free.

« Good start, not so good finish »

Front desk staff were all quite friendly and helpful. The room was very nice however we had two issues, one of which would require a guest not being in that room for a day or two, and one which apparently could not or would not be addressed. The carpet was very stained and not appealing to walk upon in bare or stocking feet. Rally needs to be changed out. The other thing was the bathroom door was almost impossible to open or close. I mentioned it to the desk and they said someone would be up to the room to check on it. If maintenance came up, they did nothing. It was just as bad on day 5 when we checked out as it was on the first day.
