I was checking out around 10:00am with no other guest waiting. The staff, without any tagged name, the one with his glasses on , is rude with no eye contact, no greeting and no goodbye. I don’t feel I am welcome staying in Novotel

« Great location for visitors by flight »

Like the location a lot, convenient to either airport and CDB. Hardware is okay given it is after all not so young a property. Service at reception was attentive, but the same at the dining venues wasn't that great. The staffs were either talking among themselves or were just busy with their own stuff. Was hard to get their attention and service.

The room was clean and that's the most important. Breakfast is very good. Overall I had a good experience. However, the TV in my room was not connected. It was disappointing when I got in late and just tried to veg out a bit. Also the bathroom in the lobby was very stuffy.

Quality level of receptionists at the hotel are getting worth year by year. I am just a silver member of ACCOR, but I still know some other ACCOR hotels. Their hospitality is obviously worst in the ACCOR hotels I ever stayed. The location of Novotel Beijing Sanyuan is very convenient for me and our industry, but many of my friends and competitors who stayed all talked about the unfriendly receptionists. They never say greetings like Good morning / evening. At check-in, she just took a passport from me and said FINISHED just like having a though "WHY ARE YOU STILL STANDINF THERE, IDIOTS?". She didn't provide me any voucher for drink which usually given to a silver member. I didn't want to talk to her and I didn't claim it.

« Great location but not international service... »

This is the second time I have stayed at this hotel and unfortunately like the first the service on Reception and in general is not that good. The executive lounge does not really exist and is just an extension of the hotel breakfast room...... the internet in general is almost non-existent in the rooms and the executive lounge.... There is no bell boy to arrange your bags etc or even order a taxi... you have to stand in the reception queue to book a cab... once you are being served the receptionists are hopeless and refuse to even look you in the eye let alone smile... I am sorry to say but I won't be coming back. I was very disappointed.

I checked in online and had asked for a higher rather than a lower floor if possible. I was given a room on the 8th floor in a 20-story bldg and was disappointed. I was given a welcome drink ticket and because the hotel brochure said the bar was open until 1 am I went down at about 10:15 pm to get a drink but was told the bar had closed at 10 pm. The bathroom could be cleaner (found hair on floor, etc.)

« Unprofessional staff and a bad hotel for business travelers »

Staff at reception is very unfriendly and what is more important unorofessional. Check in was a nightmare; check out was not much better. WiFi connection is very poor and requires to receive a code in your phone (which sometimes does never arrive...) I was not given even my welcome drink as platinum member. Room was Ok, spacious enough for three nights.

« Good Location - F&B need re-training! »

This hotel is really well located right outside Sanyunqiao subway for easy connections to the city, and is about 30mins by car to the airport too. We stayed in one of the executive rooms which was equipped as expected. Mattress felt a little on the hard side if I'm honest. Wifi is okay, but prone to frequent dropouts which was frustrating! It requires a code to be sent to your mobile phone, but in the list of countries, for some reason it doesn't include UK?! Reception desk had to enter the business password for us in the end. F&B team really could do with some training. In the morning they bark at you "room number?!" as you approach the restaurant for breakfast, and when you respond back in English they don't understand and give you a pen to write it down... we were also shoo'ed away when being 5mins early to breakfast one morning too! Additionally, the F&B team also need training on Accor loyalty programme and it's perks. We were refused a glass of wine for our Welcome Drink, insisting that it was only soft drinks, tea or coffee... despite the welcome drink card itself saying "all drinks except champagne, spirits...". Not impressed at all. The lounge is pretty disappointing too and certainly not worth paying extra for. It's practically open to anyone (no one really checks who accesses it), and the staff are usually just on their phone most of the time as the restaurant is dead most of the day. The 'happy hour' has a small selection of drinks and the snacks during this time are pretty poor in all honesty. The same stale biscuits and nuts are out all day long, and they have a selection 4 snacks along with some fruit, small canapes and 'cake'. In comparison the Novotel Xin Qiao which we had stayed in for the previous 4 nights had a large spread of buffet style dishes, salad bar, desserts and fruit selection to choose from.

impressive stay with u The Oral English level of some of the receptionists should be improved as the foreign guests account for more. The hotel should provide metro maps for foreigners for better identification since I notice that the already offered black-white metro map copy is rejected by one of the foreigners due to ‘no colour’ and instead he opts to see the billboard outside the Sanyuan Subway Station. Nice for international travellers anyway. Cheers.

I was on business trip, the hotel is good with very friendly staff. We stayed for 3 nights and enjoyed the location. I would definitely comeback to stay in this property in future, it is also not so far from Beijing International Airport.
