« Disappointing despite obvious renovation. »

The 1 star is thanks to the wonderful staff who fast tracked our needs. All was well until the 3rd day where the door simply wouldn't open - Customer service sent someone to fix the door "battery". Same result that night - took > 1 hour to fix, and was reassured that battery had been changed as well as the lock. Exactly same door problem the next morning. I requested a room change as it was a 5 day stay and I had by now gone up and down total of 7 times. Management took on request, but left us sitting forever. After 1.5 hours, I decided to check if room was ready - yes, but no one bothered to inform us. They tried the old room again - still wouldn't open... must be change of Management - 1st problem to this degree of neglect in Novotels I've stayed in. Also, pillows had strong smell - but they are generous,so just don't use the smell ones. Suspected didn't wash/change bathroom floor mats as we had minor accident on Day 1 & same "spots" were on mats on Day 3... Else, good location.

lobby is welcoming, The room is spacious however the interior design of the room is aged. It's convenient that parking is provided but there's charges on hotel guest.

It was OK, regretfully not the best Novotel experience we have had. Of course, the hotel is undergoing renovation which has to occur for a hotel to remain relevant and competitive. We had a renovated room. It was comfortable, of good size although the bathroom was a tad small. For a hotel undergoing renovation, perhaps nothing was spent on AC (noisy) and rapid hot water. Six - seven minutes was a bit long to wait for hot water and a terrible waste of running water until the hot water arrived. But, then again, perhaps people in Malaysia aren't as water conscious as those from drier climates.

Check-in has to wait for more than half an hour as no king bed room was available. Finally the room given was not clean and in a remote corner. The shower sliding door collapsed on the second evening when I returned and no one was informed. I had to do this myself. The breakfast spread and food needs to be better set up and quality improved. The food does not appear to be fresh.
