reception did not bother to have us escorted for the 1st time to the room!! We got lost as the road to our room was under construction and was completely barricaded. It was already dark as we checked in late evening. We had to 1st visit the bar area and call someone from reception to take us finally to our room which anyway was on the ground floor and not on the 1st floor as was informed at the reception!!

We enjoyed staying at Novotel Nusa Dua Bali. Since our booking was through Emirates Holidays and we requested for adjoining or connecting room for children (9 aged 12 & 15 yrs). But staff allotted two rooms in two different buildings. After raising the concern the Supervisor/ Manager (6th Aug around 9 pm local time) was kind enough to look into the matter and because of nonavailability of adjacent rooms she upgraded to Suite 1408 until next day morning and thereupon checkout on 10th. Ambiance, facilities, hospitality of staff and services were at par.

Room was upgrade was appreciated, but so wasteful. Waiting 4.5 hours for a room with young kids is inexcusable, to then be advised that the overpriced drinks taken during our wait were payable left a terrible taste in our mouth.

Our apartment, the resort grounds, the breakfast buffet, the pool area, the bar - all absolutely wonderful. We were very impressed by the service of all the staff, and their attention to our 'gluten free' needs at breakfast was great. The only thing lacking for us was that there was no gluten free options at the beach club. Not important to many but very important to us. We would have spent a lot of time there but didn't because there was nothing we could order to eat.

There are some shortcomings that no guest'd like to see in his/her room. First and the most important, there was an unpleasant odor from the toilet drain throughout our stay in the hotel. This kind of problem is and should be fixable by everyone's standard and by all means before the guest arrives. Then, the deposit policy was not known in advance (or at least sufficiently known). It's not problem in terms of finance but in terms of unexpectedness. Everything else was really good. Yet, the most salient element of the positive side was staff. Every employee was nice, kind and what's very important - competent. Bravo for the staff!

I stayed at the Novotel Nusa Dua for 3 nights. Property was well maintained with guest amenities geared towards vacationing families. Pools were spacious and clean. Breakfast buffet was expansive and has good variety. Shuttle to the beach and Bali Collection were prompt. I was upgraded to an apartment given my platinum status. Room was spacious, but appeared basic. Wood floor was waxed prior to arrival and was a bit slippery. Layout of bathroom was a bit awkward, resulting in water spilling over the bathroom floor after every shower. Make sure you bring mosquito repellent lotion as you’ll need it in Bali.

I’ve stayed at this resort at least 6 times over the last 7 years. I noticed a decline in level of service at the bar and in the restaurant. Staff were very slow to approach us and on many occasions we had to call or walk over to get service.

Reception at check out was pretty rude - was told I could do a late check out till 1pm, but was rude when she told me the next customer is already here, you should hurry up. There was also clearly a change in attitude when I spoke to her in bahasa instead of English, as the incoming guests were white. I do not appreciate being treated like a second class citizen in my own country, being brushed off and told to leave early and vacate the room for the incoming white guests. This is just not right.
