Frustrating for private guests (Couple without kids). Not adequate value for money. Far from being a luxury Hotel. Breakfast buffet offer very weak for level of Hotel On top: paying such a high rate for one overnight stay and at breakfast having to pay in separate for a Cappuccino and for an Espresso Coffee, that's just an unacceptable service performance to be forwarded by a "luxury" Hotel. At time of booking required double bed, at front desk was confirmed yes is double bed and when going to room were separate beds. Adequate for business events with mass guest attendance (I was participating several times in the past, hosted at the Hotel).

« Good experience, with lots of improvement opportunities in the reception area, and dealing with regular guests and events in the same time. »

The hotel is well located and has good structure. WE had issues when we came in as the checking process took very long and was very bureaucratic. Also, one of the room in our reservation took more than 2 hours to be ready. And yes, we came in after 3pm. And the hotel was pretty empty. We felt a little lack of attention during our stay. The hotel was quite empty, but there was only one restaurant open for all meals, pizza place was closed all the time and we could feel there was not a lot of people in the bars and service overall. Also, due to a religious event, there were numerous restrictions for us, who had nothing to do with the event. There was no draft beer, no birthday cake because the hotel team could not access the kitchen (concierge saved the day and got us a birthday cake from outside so we could celebrate) and really restricted options for dinner at the restaurant. I understand it was a big event and this type of business is really important to every hotel, but regular guests should not be penalized for them.

Hotel location is outstanding! Staff is very polite and food is great! Hotel installations are a little dated to be 5 stars but they are clean! Beach in absolutely great along with swimming pool. In that weekend there was a corporate event that had loud music until late hours. That bothered my 2 years old son that took a long time to sleep. I recommend to get the beach facing room far from the pool and the noise.

We have stayed previously at the hotel. As a member of the loyalty program we also stay at numerous Accor hotels around the world. While the stay was satisfactory and we do enjoy the hotel, we did not feel the service was up to the level of previous stays nor our recent stay at at the Pullman hotel in La Defense in January where the service was exceptional. While it will not stop us coming again, it was something my wife and I did notice.

« Too loud at night »

We love your hotel, and have stayed there 4 times with out family. This time however, our room was right next to the event space on Ala Norte on the 1st floor. We have a 4 month old baby, and he was unable to sleep at night because the first night they were setting up an event (at 2 and 4 am?!?!). I complained, and was promise a phone call (which I never received) and that it would not happen again. However the second night it was the same thing again and the third night there was INCREDIBLY LOUD music in the casino club from 8-11 pm. Needless to say, no one in our family slept because the hotel was simply too loud. We are incredibly disappointed, and when we complained, nothing was done. We will not be coming back to stay with you again. Chanda

This is the third (or fourth?) time my family with nonagenarian parents stay at the Sofitel Guaruja. In preparation for or 10 day stay, I emailed the manager Marcia Miranda who with her team helped us make our reservation and arrangements. One of the main reasons we keep coming back to this hotel is because the staff are so caring and attentive. Eduardo, the maitre at the restaurant and his team (Rafaela, Rosana, Doug, Marcelo etc.) reserved the table closest to the buffet so that my parents didn't have far to walk to get their food. The house keeping staff put non slip mats in their shower to make sure they were safer. The pool staff Gelino and Marcelo helped me take my parents both in and out of the pools. The assistant managers Costa and Julio ensured all our needs were met. Small things like these were incredibly helpful. In addition to the staff being incredibly customer service oriented, the hotel setting is beautiful and Chef Patriks food is amazing. Having said all this about the staff, hotel setting and the food, unfortunately, I cannot rave about the hotels rooms that are showing signs of wear and tear and must be renovated in order for the hotel to maintain its 5 star rating.

« Generally met expectations. »

Stay was fine, but was disappointed with the direction for F&B. The new buffet location is a refreshing change aesthetically, but the consolidation of two buffets caused congestion and traffic that was previously better distributed. The food was also noticeably of a lesser standard. Critically, the service seemed severely understaffed, with the everyone appearing to be lost during peak moments due to the volume of customer requests. It felt like cost cutting was occurring at our expense. It was nice that you did away with the annoying meal cards, however. I am still annoyed that children now have to pay extra, especially given the ridiculous price. This drives us to eat outside of the hotel where there are few options, and generally dilutes the experience.
