The personnel was very welcoming and helpful. Unluckily, rooms (especially restrooms) weren’t as clean as I expected for such an hotel. Gym restrooms were unsatisfactory too: quite dirty, empty shampoo dispenser and cigarette butts on the floor.

I would like to thank to Novotel Balikpapan for awesome service given to me last week. Reception was very humble and helpful during check in process. They also give an upgrade to suite room, what a nice present, love it. - I am asking room services for asking ironing and brown sugar, but not receive at all. - The water in bathroom was so smelly like treated by chlorine. - Tap water in my bathroom is not properly work, water coming out from the faucet was too small. - Some of faucet in public restroom in lobby area are not properly work, really poor maintenance like an old warehouse.

It's been 2nd-3rd time that I stayed in Novotel so far in 2019. Unfortunately, my travel agent forgot to book the hotel for me but the receptionist provided the room in no time. The next things that need to be commented are: - Hot water took sometime to flow, perhaps because my room was right at the end of corridor - The bacon was cold for morning breakfast because the stove was not working

The service is good, because my flight was pretty early, and arrived at the hotel around 10am, asked for early checked in, the reception girl told me to wait and helped me with it, finally I can entered the room in 10.30am, but I think there's a problem with the door, it was pretty hard for me to open the door, maybe you can check in room 319 there's a problem with opening the door. but overall the stay was good. I'll come back if I have to stay in balikpapan again

it's nice to come back and stay and Novotel Balikpapan since my last visit. I like the athmosphere, warm welcome from the staffs and the manager when i had problem during check in. Since we're coming in a group, we can get free meeting room for 1 day in the evening and another extra free 1 day in evening from the manager after our friend asking him for free since we need the room badly for our activites. The manager is nice and kind. Thank you for the help. Btw eventhough in my room the AC is leaking and after report to front desk still leaking (less) but still OK lah.

Very disappointed as Accor member as the hotel is old, dirty, no amenities around, poor services (porter) and front desk was very slow and badly organised except for Mr Florent who as a GM was very good. He extended his help to me and assured me that my box was sent to my room. Internet was very poor and toilet door also has funny noises and same for the shower. Just very disappointed and not a good hotel to stay

Good but not as comfortable and as safe as the 5 star hotels I have ever stayed in. I am Security Mgr at Chevron, all appointed Hotels through my team assessment and approval. For 5 days stay only 1 if there are guards at the hotel entrance. Even though this is the main access control that has a metal detector. As a result anyone can enter with anything. Then you can take the elevator (without an access card) and directly in front of the room door. It is certain this will not pass Chevron's assessment. Next, the hotel is quite old and the equipment in the room including the bathroom is a lot of old ones. The towels were not white and even seemed dirty and broken on the edges.
