Somehow we got smaller room than the size of room I remember about Novotel with the same rate. Its wastage & bath tub drainage got stuck, it got fixed in the evening after I met an engineer. The most unfortunate was no better wider room available as said by the receptionist so we moved to other hotel for another 2 nights

- Check in Process very slow for group (13Person), we already prepare 2 weeks before for administration (Name List) but they not reading and follow what we confirm by email and takes time almost 1 and half hours. They don't have concept how to handle group. - No welcome drink - elevator operate only 1 unit

The room was nice, we stayed a total of 7 nights, two separate bookings. We had a few small issues to begin with, three days in a row despite our room being cleaned we had to request towels as there were none in our room at 5pm. One evening the hot water went off and then I dried myself with a hand towel. Then on 28th June we woke up to half the bathroom floor covered in overflowing water from the toilet. Moments later the power went out in our room. Then the final straw I would have to say was that my request for the “price guarantee” was declined despite the price I found being as the website states, the same dates and the same room conditions, both including breakfast for 5 nights. However I feel like the excuse that some computer coding at the hotel end did not include breakfast. Weird when my confirmation from Accor clearly stated that I would be getting breakfast each night. This is the first time I have ever applied for the guarantee. I just felt like to whole process of the price guarantee was insulting to a loyal Accor member of 16 years. We stay over 30 nights each year in Accor hotels and usually feel valued when we stay. The front desk manager was prepared to match the price but not honor the additional 10%, this made me think is my loyalty not even worth 385,000rp ? Anyway on a positive note we had interaction with the manager who was very friendly and had good local knowledge. Another positive I love the effort to get rid of bottled water in the hotel!

I stayed at Novotel Balikpapan for 5 nights in June 2019. The experience was great! Hotel staff are friendly, hotel design is superb, the hotel room is comfortable, huge but cozy. Breakfast food is nice. This hotel becomes my next must stay hotel for my future visit. The only small downside: Hair dryer did not work, but staff provided me with another quickly. There is no comb for my hair as I forgot to bring, I can fix that myself quickly next time.
