Wonderful stay - The hotel facilities are wonderful, but the staff are truly exceptional. Every single encounter made me feel special and welcomed. 100% perfect every single time. That's really remarkable. From the moment you arrive. Club Milliesime staff became friends I looked forward to seeing every day of my stay. All staff at the club are welcoming and attentive. Vikas, Laxmi, Deepak, Rizvin, Than and Dhruv all took their time to explain the cricket scores to us when we looked confused. We eventually learned well enough to explain to other travellers thanks to the team at the club! At the desk, Riya Kirsten and Sakina arranged all of our extra requests and even offered advise for the over and above requests that we made and they did it so naturally it felt like a favor for a friend. They really had the perfect balance. Interns Pranjal, Tanay, Angel and Samar were all engaging and did a great job of quickly fitting into the daily routine in the club. Samar had a wonderful way of explaining the dishes he was offering with details of how ingredients and which were spicy and even remembering what we had tried and liked before. We liked seeing Samar fit in nicely greeting new hotel arrivals in his next rotation. Pranjal was very outgoing and made connections with our rather large group. Tanay also easily connected with customers. The cooks were wonderful, and I regret only getting one name. There were also atleast 2 others who deserve mention. I think Harsh would be able to explain which cook he had make Indian treats for us to try. I eventually bought a tiffin to take away the treats they made for me! The taller thin cook and the average height cook with the big smiles. The cook's name I did get was Alisha who spoke to our group and politely answered our questions about food and about her own experiences as one of the few females we'd noticed as cooks. Stand out stars in the club were Divya, Harsh and Emmanuel who have the perfect way of politely welcoming you and asking about your day without imposing. Light and friendly but also genuinely interested. Always kind, attentive and thoughtful. I instantly connected with Divya, Harsh and Emma, and I noticed they connected easily with every member of our large group. They just had an easy light manner that was perfectly professional and yet friendly as well. At the front desk Shilpa checked me in. She was the first person I met and greeted me by name everytime she saw me afterwards. I was truly impressed by the memory recall. She had such a wonderful smile and genuine interest in how our stay was going. Pooja also helped me re-check in when I needed to extend my stay. She helped me get an even better room rate for the second stay. At teh conceirge Dinesh arranged several tours for me and took care of all the details to make it enjoyable tours. Urvi also arranged numerous perfect tours and outings for me and my husband as well as with a mix of my friends. I also had occasion to call the desk to try to reach my friend to warn her she should try to leave earlier for the airport due to severe traffic delays. Urvi took the call and instantly put me at ease as I knew I could 100% trust her and leave it in her hands for it to be taken care of completely. The Sikh greeters Kulvinder, Amarjeet and Gurmeet were all kind and welcoming and all also each remembered our names at every encounter. My husband also has a large beard and they kindly shared beard grooming tips with him and then they never failed to ask about him anytime I saw them. In the spa, we thoroughly enjoyed Cham, Nui and Angel's attentive and relaxing massages. Everything about the spa experience was just perfect. The rooms are well appointed and the atmosphere is very relaxing and instantly puts one in a more relaxed state. The massages were all just perfect. Housekeeping was also seamless and perfect. Ishaan, Rohan, Arshay and Bharat were all wonderful and I barely noticed they were attending the room they were so quick and efficient. Ishaan took really good care of us and always greeted us with a smile. Lastly, I didn't often go to Pondicherry for breakfast after finding the club, but when I was there originally, Zaid had a wonderfully attentive way of greeting us and welcoming us.

« Nice hotel, a little impersonal in some areas »

Checking in and customer care was excellent, the room was lovely and attention to detail good. The restaurant was very cold and impersonal in the evenings so I only ate there once, I was seated under an air-con fan! The bar was ok, breakfast was a nightmare, I tried to get a seat twice on 2 separate occasions and failed which is ridiculous. I was sold the breakfast package as extra and still couldn’t get in! I had access to the executive lounge - I waited 10 minutes in there one morning before anyone even acknowledged I was there! I nearly walked out. One morning when I was eating, a group of 4 friends were talking noisily behind me, instead of asking them to move to the lobby area they were served with coffee where they were standing, so I finished up quickly and left. The concierge was excellent, especially the Sikh gentleman who sorted a minor issue with cars for me.

Sofitel BKC somewhat lived up to my expectation. The room design and features were good and modern. My only concerns, which I hope the hotel can address, are the following: 1) I find the lighting in the bathroom to dark. It’s casts a dark shadow on my face in front of the mirror. I had to use the cabinet mirrors as the lighting there is white and brighter. 2) The power outlet in the bathroom is not of universal design. I could not use my travel hairdryer in the bathroom. 3) The handheld shower head has thick limescale and sone rust so I was a bit put off.

The room was good! The check in & check out process was great! Although my confirmation mail said that I had already paid in advance I had to pay again at the hotel “because it didn’t went through due to a technical error” for which I got a call a day before asking for my card details on the phone which I didnt do cause it didn’t seem safe. Breakfast was a horrible experience, there was a waiting for table but the person who came in later than a lot of us waiting there was given a preference even though he was the same no. Of pax. I finally got the table and ordered a pancake where I requested for nutella and bananas but the chef said that they didnt have bananas (they had it in fruit section, but ok) and I finished my entire breakfast and he still didnt prepare it when I finally got up to leave he showed up with them but it was too late. Other items didn’t taste that great as well.

My wife and daughter had an interview in US consulate Mumbai. We wanted to stay close to the consulate office because of traffic and rain. Sofitel is right opposite to US consulate and other business centers in BKC. Staff is very helpful and courteous. Morning breakfast was yum and large options for everyone. I would like to thanks the staff at the entrance/Valet. Especially the Sardar Ji who was very professional and helpful and few other guys(don't know the names). Only suggestion is for the minibar. When you charge 900INR for a 90 ML Vodka, please provide at least Smirnoff. Who will pay 900INR for Romanov? But that's just my opinion. Thank you for having us.
