« Terrible organisation in a usually great hotel »

Booked 3 twin rooms for 6 adults, for one night. Arrived at midday, had checked in online so rooms already allocated, rooms not ready - this is fine, checkin is 2pm on. So we agreed we could leave our bags and return later, which we did, at 6pm. At this checkin we were told that 2 of our rooms had been "upgraded" to suites - not bad we thought, a bit of hassle as it meant 1/3rd of our group now on 2nd floor, the rest of us on the 11th floor suites. However, 1 of the suites was not yet available. So we now had been "upgraded" to a room that we couldn't use. The staff were not very helpful - they kept saying "but it is an upgrade" and ignored our "but we just want A room now, not a nicer one later". They seemed to think that saying "you've been upgraded" would remove all complaints. So we gave up and just asked for the key at least, saying we would return after dinner, we could all get ready in the 2 available rooms for now. They refused to give us the key - they cannot give us a key to a room that doesn't exist. We are now speechless - we tell them we have dinner reservations and ask them what they suggest as we cannot wait around for a room, that we have already paid for, that was supposed to be ready 4 hours ago, to become ready. Again, fairly useless staff assistance until eventually the penny seemed to drop with them that we needed a room and a key so they gave us the key under the understanding that we would not use it until after 7pm -- a full 5 HOURS after it was supposed to be ready. My complaints were met with a promise of a 40% refund on this room - I accepted but pointed out that I had paid in advance. I was therefore assured that there would be a refund "left on my room notes" but 3 days later I have had no such refund and do not hold out much hope of ever getting it. On checkout the following day we encountered a group checking in that looked like they were having the exact same problem....

Overall nice hotel and friendly staff. dinner service was a little slow, and a member of housekeeping walked in on me in my room before I was about to get into the shower, and it was quite embarrassing.

The room was clean, staff was freindly but a little incompetent, breakfast was terrrible. The proximity to the train made it all seem worth it. However, the area is not "typical" London.

We booked the hotel for one night and we arrived there very late. Michael at reception was incredible helpful and he went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. Room was great, service was amazing but the only inconvenient that we had was the SPA - not available next day (Maintenance) .it Was my partners birthday and the reason why we chose this hotel was so we can have a nice relaxing couple of hours in the SPA.

Nice people, good breakfest. Room with carpet, would appreciate lynolium for easier cleaning. There was a double blanket in the bed, but after questioning the separate blankets were provided. Convinient with refridge and safty box in the room.

Enjoyed our stay at the Paddington Novotel. Excellent location at Paddington Central. Very close to Paddington station for airport connections and the tube. Good sized rooms for London with pleasant views.

We, my wife and son, enjoyed our stay at Novotel Paddington a lot. Great location, close to Paddington station. Friendly staff, not only the reception staff, but also the restaurant staff. Very disappointed with Customer Service and The Room We have stayed at your hotel every year for the past 10 years, sometimes several times a year as was recommended by friends. The beds could do with changing they are so hard, the pillows also need renewing they are extremely lumpy and we had the worst 2 nights sleep ever and were glad to get home on Sunday. The younger girl at the bar on the Friday evening was very grumpy and rude, even to the extreme where our drinks were banged down on the table. We are very unhappy.

Arrived early in the morning, being told the room is not ready for checking in. Came back in the afternoon, being told there was no more available rooms. I was then sent to another hotel nearby to temporarily stay for a night and sent back the second day. This was a 7-night stay which was booked over a month ago. Can't understand how this could happen in a modern hotel.

Reception was amazing from started to finish, the room we was giving was good, we find housekeeper came to refresh the room was too late in the day. Restaurant service on the first night was great but on the second night one member of the bar staff was rude and unhelpful we did not catch her name she had blonde hair and just same she didn’t wanted to be there.

In general sloppy service. Maid removed towels and bath mat without replacing them. When I went to ask for new ones, the receptionist was too busy on a private call to acknowledge me. The front desk refused to accept a parcel I had agreed with them to get delivered at the hotel, when I tried to find out why, they simply stopped responding. No proper apology or explanation. Won’t be staying again.

It was good staying here, it was very closed to Paddington whether the national train, the underground, or the Heathrow Express which makes us more convenient in terms of traveling. However, the rooms were not as elegant as we saw previously on the website. Also, some parts are still not clean. For the breakfast was fantastic.

« Excellent fitness center, but to hot rooms »

Novotel is centrally located in Paddington, and has clean rooms and a nice breakfast. However, the rooms are hot, and this time it was really to hot. When you have to ask for a vent in late September somebody should check the ventilation system. This time I got to use a terrific spa and fitness center. This is actually one of the main reasons I stay at Novotel. This time all the saunas were functioning which they weren't before.

« Overall a Satisfying Stay »

Overall the stay was fine but was let down by housekeeping. On two occasions I had to request that our room be serviced even having left the "Please make up my room" on the door. The breakfast was fine and the restaurant menu was the best that we have seen in Novotel on this holiday and the food was really nice. The staff were all friendly and accommodating.
