« A long and bad holiday »

I stayed at this hotel in Jan this year and was very happy with it. So I decided to stay here for 10 nights with my fiance. When we arrived, I felt a bit sad the receptionist was not helpful and I didn't feel welcome at all. Although I asked him to help to request his manager about a confirmation letter about my stay which I need to give to a register office for my marriage, he said he would inform his manager but when we asked for the letter some days after, no one has heard about it. The room was super dirty and the staff even didn't change the bed clothes despite the stains. One day, there was no one to come and make up the room for us. I had to complain with a receptionist to get it done. The room was always so smelly that I had to use my perfume to make it better and we spent almost the time outside instead. The bathroom was not cleaned properly, it was so easy to find stains in the toilet and the sink. I wish I hadn't booked this hotel for this long stay. I will be travelling frequently to Liverpool but will never stay here ever again.

« Good some things could have been better »

Overall good stay. We came for the netball World Cup. The reception area was being overhauled which did give a not so good impression of the hotel when we arrived. And I did feel sorry for the two netball teams staying there as they were exposed to the people checking in as they were having dinner etc. It did lead to the dinning area being compromised. There was also some sort of disturbance early in morning in the room above ( did sound like someone throwing a medicine ball on their floor (our ceiling). We got up earlier than planned. Good breakfast and bar. And very friendly staff. Who were all very helpful.

« High Price hotel, poor standards! »

My wife and I stayed here for 2 nights, primarily to attend the Eagles concert at the M&S Bank Arena. When we went through the main door, we were met with a building site. There were metal barriers and men hammering, with no real direction to where reception was located. When we returned to our room on Saturday at 5.00 pm, the room had not been done, which was quite annoying as we needed a rest before getting ready to go to the concert! It was finally done by 6.00 pm, which gave us little time before heading out. One of the bath towels had a large hole in it, which you could put your hand through, which I showed reception staff! They said to email Konstantina on h6… , which I did but the email wouldn't deliver! We paid £229 for the Saturday night, which showed poor value for money. We have booked a 3 night stay in November and hope that it will have improved!

Expected more from a Novotel....can’t understand while you would do a reception refit whilst the netball World Cup is on(team staying at your hotel)Most times during the day only 1 lift available. On arrival,parked at the front of hotel to check luggage.Staff advises car park next door..instructed to drive around the block ,due to numerous road closures (not the hotels fault) took 45 mins to find the access to the side road which leads into car park...directions and instructions ie when you enter the car park , the entrance is the small lane way next to the hotel,not at the front where the P sign is(therefor we had to go around “the block “ again which takes a lot more time). Gold club member received welcome drink,the bar staff where very friendly,engaging ,did there job well, nothing was too much trouble. Breakfast was probably the worst Novotel experience ..tables were sticky,(minor really, just giving feedback) Trays of eggs,not sure how they were cooked,middles were dark grey , rubbery and grainey. No mention off ,if you would like to order eggs poached we would be happy to do that. Only coffee available was filtered(week with no flavour) Pastries were flavourless,not worth consuming. We didn’t even attempt to eat dinner in the restaurant as breakfast is usually a good indicator. Room was very clean and tidy,air conditioner did not keep room cool. Obviously hotel is in a great location,which is why we chose the hotel. Most of the staff(excluding the bar area((which we had 2 drinks at))really seemed tired and couldn’t really be bothered. Not what we have come to expect and receive through our travels with the Accor group(we would not have booked this hotel if it wasn’t Accor.

Had an enjoyable stay at Novotel Liverpool. Bedrooms and facilities were to be expected, always a bonus having pool and sauna. Breakfast was good, and had a nice bar area. Room was spacious, clean and quiet (on 10th floor) although closer on bedroom door was off it's fixings which meant it banged and dragged against the wall when opening the door. I was able to fix it back in without going to reception but then so could have the room cleaner i would have thought - or reported it? Reception was being upgraded / refurbed which although didn't detract from overall stay, was a bit of surprise when walking into part building site on arrival affecting initial impression - some notification would have been nice. I like the Novotel brand though and would stay again.

Lovely hotel with great facilities and a good breakfast. Room was too warm at night though and air conditioning didn’t work and if window was open the room was too noisy to sleep due to noise outside.
