« 6 hours to set up a sofa bed is not acceptable »

We booked a family room for 2 adults 1 child and checked in at 2:30pm (30 mins after the 2pm check in) and was advise someone would set up the sofa bed for our daughter. we then headed in to town and out for dinner and arrived back at 7:30pm and the bed still wasnt made, we called down to reception and asked for the bed to be made asap. 45 mins later it still wasn't done so we called again and told they would chase housekeeping. another 30 minutes and still nothing so another phone call. it took a total of 5 phone calls for the sofa bed to be made at which point we had a very tired little girl at 9:15pm before someone finally arrived to make the bed so she could get some sleep. this is not the usual service from this hotel as we've stayed here a good few times but this was so dissapointing.

« Good location, nice vibe and an indoor pool »

Great location, good value and a nice bar restaurant and reception area. Really good and caters for Children very well. Only disappointment is the sofa bed wasn’t made and we ended up just sleeping in the same bed as our daughter to save another set of sheets being washed - thinking of the envrlironment.

Every was easy and straightforward from booking, checking in and getting our parking validated. All the staff were really friendly and welcoming. Our room was light, bright and very clean. I am not a fan of the separate toilet to sink, for hygiene purposes, this should be hands free, however I imagine that this not cost effective or practical. And maybe a few more teabags.

« We really enjoyed our stay »

The room was clean and beds were comfortable although we were placed at the back of the hotel with no view and in the night there was a noise of a machine that kept coming on through the night. My daughter also walked into the glass door at the swimming pool as she didn't realise it had been closed( 5 year old) maybe something colourful at child level would stop this from happening again. Overall we did really enjoy our stay and will be staying again.

« service below what was expected »

despite putting the sign on the door showing we were 'out exploring' on the second day of our stay the room not serviced until after 15:30, by which time we had returned from a day out, and didn't really want to be disturbed. on 03/09/19 some parts of hot breakfast were just luke warm, some things were actually cold i.e. fried eggs when the chef was told about it he put some in the microwave to warm them up!!! (not really acceptable) as well as telling the one of the servers, the chef and one of the management team we eventually left without getting an answer or explanation (I think it was probably hot plates not working

« Nice stay at the Novotel with a pleasant surprise! »

We arrived to find that we had been upgraded to an exec room and a birthday cards and some small cakes had been left in my room by the hotel. That was a nice touch. Beds were really comfortable and sound proofing good too. Breakfast had plenty of choices and the bar had a good ambience.

+ side: Location super, Bed comfortable, nice view & super breakfast + helpful staff. - side: family room (2 adults & 2 children) the sofa bed had no linen!?! Had to phone reception twice for bedding (delivered promptly the second time) Towels! No bath towels provided (4 tiny towels only) Would have given 10 out of 10 if it wasn’t for this..
