The location, staff, service and value for money absolutely at the highest top. I would like to thanks all the staff who were working during my stsy But the highest regards I would like to send to the lovely young lady who checked me in. Her name is Carole if I remember correctly. Also both night male receptionists were very friendly, polite and very professional. « Great place to stay! »

We enjoyed our stay at Ibis Copacabana Posto 2. We were greeted by an individual who spoke English. Towels, chairs and umbrellas were provided for the beach. Breakfast was plentiful and varied. Bed was comfortable. The safe in our room did not work when we arrived, but within half an hour it had been fixed.

« Few hours in Copacabana »

I stayed just few hours in Copacabana and in this hotel. It was a bit crowded due to a festival in Rio de Janeiro and the check in was delayed in the day I arrived. However the recepcionist was very helpful and offered a better room option than that I have booked. Other attendants were very busy probably due to the hotel was full booked that day. So, if people intend staying in this hotel for important events in Rio de Janeiro, probably some delays and lack of attention of some employes will occur. But in general, the hotel is very good.

« Clean, tidy, friendly and great location »

Hotel was very clean, staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel itself is in a very good location, less than 5 minutes walk from Copacabana beach. The rooms were clean and tidy, with a safe, AC and a decent shower. Bed was very comfy. Only thing lacking was the very small seating area in the lobby.

Íbis Copacabana is a nice place, close to beach and Subway station. Staff are all committed with customer satisfaction, always willing to help and offer support. Breakfast is pretty good and bar products are also good.

« Horrible customer service - blamed me and Expedia for THEIR mistake »

Staff here were incompetent and insisted that Expedia/Hotels.com shorted them on my four-night stay and that they were only paid for three nights by Expedia/Hotels.com. They told me they were owed money for the last night of my stay, despite my showing them my reservation on Hotels.com which proved that my reservation was paid-in-full and was for a total of four nights. The hotel staff made me call Hotels.com customer support myself otherwise I was told I would have to check-out and vacate the premises; please note this was late in the afternoon on a raining day, and I had nowhere to go, on top of the fact that I had already paid the hotel. When Hotels.com staff attempted to call the hotel on my behalf, no one picked up the phone from the hotel. I had to go back downstairs, wait in line, then talk to the unsympathetic staff. They then "found" my "missing" reservation and everything was "fine" and I was given a thumbs-up and told to sign some paperwork, to which I refused. I asked to speak to a manager, but "none were present"...an obvious lie. No apologies for not doing their due diligence and searching THEIR system better. No apologies for wasting two hours of my time. They should have called Expedia/Hotels.com to resolve the issue themselves but instead had me do their job for them. In the end, the fault was theirs, despite attempting to make me feel guilty and then scapegoating Expedia. To justify their accusations, they even gave me an internal, private folio from Expedia that shows how much they were paid for my stay, claiming it showed I and/or Expedia owed them money. Ultimately, their laziness, lack of professionalism, and attempts at shirking their responsibilities ruined the last night of my vacation. I will never stay here again and will ensure none of my friends do either. I go to Brazil at least once every year and for the past four years, have normally stayed at a sister hotel; never again. Not in Rio, Sao Paulo, Europe, or anywhere else in the world; the customer service standards leave much to be desired and better can be found at establishments that hold their employees to a higher standard.

« A gem in Copacabana »

Stayed at this hotel for 5 nights . First of all, very convenient location , only a 2 minute walk to the Metro station , 5 minute walk to the Copacabana beach . The neighbourhood feels very safe to walk around even at night . Restaurants , cheap or moderate priced , are plenty around the hotel . Hotel staff were nice , helpful and hospitable and both check in and check out were smooth . When the safe in my room was of order , a technician was immediate sent to fix it . Hotel buffet breakfast was also awesome , inexpensive and offers something for everyone .

We had a pleasant stay. The room service is very nice. The location is excellent. Some points for improvements are the hotel can maybe offer complimentary SIM cards or they should be available at the hotel for purchase. The rental bikes are expensive compared to the Itaú bikes so maybe the price can be improved. There is no hotel taxi service. Although there are options of Uber and metro, yet probably the hotel can can have their own airport pick and drop service. The room needs to have basic amenities of a kettle and some complementary water and tea coffee as this is standard in all good hotels. Other than this everything was good. The breakfast options are very nice there is also a small refrigerator in the room that is a plus because not all hotels provide this. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful. good experience - suggested areas for improvement are: 1) need more reception staffing (wait time to check in or check out is way too long = 20 mins.) - and 2) cleanliness (small insects crawling around near window area - this was the same 2 years ago and looks like it has not changed since then)
