« Nice and warm staff »

It was the first I stayed in the hotel. I wondered if I had a good choice at first. When I arrived at the hotel around 10 pm, I was upgraded to an executive room. The room was on the highest floor of the hotel. There was a balcony where I could enjoy the sunshine and the view over the retail park nearby. The staff is nice and helpful and should be praised. They knew what the customers wants. When I needed to get some coins in the morning, the front desk staff understood that it was for buying the tram tickets. She exchanged appropriate coins for me. Also, when I had a problem with my flight ticket, the staff at the front desk helped me check with the airline. Another staff wished me had a good luck with the flight when I left. How nice and warm she was. Just one drawback of the room. When I unfolded a towel at the bathroom, a spider popped out. I trapped it with a cup and released it at the balcony the following morning. I reported to the front desk the next night when I came back from the city. The staff promised me to get someone to check the whole room later. Therefore, it was a good choice for me staying at Edinburgh.

This is a modern hotel on the outskirts of Edinburgh. It is adjacent to a tram and railway stop which avoids the stress of trying to drive in the city. The staff were more than friendly. The rooms were large and well equipped and the breakfast was excellent.

Our cross generational party enjoyed the facilities at this conveniently located hotel. The pool is clean and a great way to relax. The restaurant and offers a wide range of food and drink. The rooms are well equipped. The whole hotel is spotless and all the staff so polite and helpful.

Regarding our summer rates, please know that due to the Fringe Festival, the Royal Military Tattoo and other multiple events taking place in the city, all hotels in Edinburgh see an increase on their rates, mainly due to high demand and very, very limited availability. We had a great stay again. The staff were friendly & efficient with a smile for us on every occasion. We always enjoy our stay however this time the breakfast let the hotel down. The bacon was not cooked enough. on 2 of the mornings the buffet had not been filled up so the full selection was not available a bit disappointing having to wait for eggs! Overall we enjoyed our stay

On the outside it’s a great lovely hotel, reception was great and friendly, but as you get deeper into the hotel it’s not all roses. In the room the skirting board beside bed needing painted and was a crack in ceiling. Had to go ask for toilet roll and milk as wasn’t restocked. We went to the restaurant the first night and didn’t go back. The service was slow, the drinks order was wrong also only one drink didn’t come. The food was good when it came, yet my kids are still waiting for their puddings, it was a meal deal, even though it was said to the staff that could we get the puddings now. The last time we stayed here the restaurant service was poor too. We love the pool and went every night, we were giving a code to get in the door, but,there was no need for this as that lock was broken and the lock was disabled. The nice secure lockers for your gear was great, if you managed to get the only one of them that worked. One or two broken you could let slip, but must of been about 8 out of 10 I think broken. The tiles in the steam room needs attention, some missing, some falling off, leaving rough edges. Not nice. The kids computer screen next to bar needs attention too, Dunno when the last PAT test was done, or if it was done right, but the flex on the bottom of it needs glanded as the inner cores are showing. Apart from that we like the hotel and location. This time we were at the back of the hotel. I see some people comment about train noise. Yes you can hear them, but it didn’t bother us.

« A nice stay in Edimburgh, close to airport »

We really enjoyed staying here. It was very easy to access when we came by car into Edinburgh and also easy to go to the airport. It is also easy to go into the city centre by car. There a commercial area just by the hotel, which is good for any supplies (specially with kids). The hotel staff is very friendly and we have the express checkout option if you are leaving early to the airport. Wifi works perfectly. We had the room as asked: with sofa bed and baby cot. The indoor swimming pool is great after a day walking and makes smiles on kids.

Very comfortable and clean room. Breakfast was very good. Service in the evening was chaotic, having been shown to my table I had to wait 45mins before my order was taken. On the second night my starter and main course was brought to me at the same time. Despite that I will stay here again.

We are members of the Accorhotel group and enjoy staying at Novotels. However, on our recent trip to Edinburgh Park Novotel, we stayed in a room that had a toilet with a very weak flush. We mentioned this problem to reception several times and although they alerted maintenance workers to assist, we continued to experience the difficult throughout the duration of our stay. « Damp, Dirty room with few working amienities »

Room smelt very badly of Damp and Mildew on arrival, Window had been left open (Presumably to clear the smell) but as a large shower has passed through and rain had come in through the window the floor and carpet below the window was flooded with standing water! TV had no remote and therefore couldn't be used - Had I been staying for longer than one night I would have requested being moved. I would hope I was just unlucky and this doesn't reflect the hotel generally. I will be talking to my Company about whether we continue to use Novotel in future if so.

We arrived in the middle of a monsoon, and my room window was leaking like a waterfall. Within minutes of reporting it, a repair man arrived, did a temporary fix and arranged for a free drink for my friend and I in the bar 'for the inconvenience'. The Prosecco was lovely! The reception staff were always extremely helpful, and the bar and restaurant staff were friendly and professional. My window was permanently fixed the following day, and the repairman left a lovely tin of shortbread, together with a note of apology, and more vouchers for free drinks! I couldn't fault this hotel. It was extremely busy, being 'Fringe' time, but the staff coped well with the pressure of numbers and always had time to help and serve us.

Having stayed once before I knew to avoid the gym as it's too small and the changing room locker system was a total ball ache last time prompting me to plan ahead and use another local gym. Room was comfy, I enjoyed my stay. Difnt eat at the restaurant so cant comment. I signed up to the rewards scheme but 1 week later still no email.
