« Great room and really cozy but I had problems with the toilet. »

Hi there, I am satisfied in general by my stay. Though, I'm afraid there is a detail that made my stay slightly uncomfortable. The flush on the toilet in my room (114 if I remember correctly) wasn't functioning as expected I'm afraid. The handle was a little loose which meant that sometimes after flushing, the water would keep running which was a bit noisy. The trick I found to make it stop is to twist the handle back up to its original position after every use. Unfortunately I figured this out in the middle of the night when I had to use the loo, which kind of interrupted our sleep. Sorry if this sounds awkward but I believe maintenance is essential on occasions like this. I would have tried and change rooms for that reason had I spotted that earlier. Regards, Alex G.

Very happy with our first experience of Mercure hotels. Only one concern, the door to the shower did not fit properly and water leaked all over the bathroom floor. Water on ceramic tiles, an accident waiting to happen. We were in room 308.

The room was all we had hoped for, spacious with views of the waterside. The breakfast lacked in two areas, sliced bread but no artisan bread to cut, and no fresh red fruits, that seemed to be mostly melon, and no dried apricots.

The experience of trying to add one additional night to booking was dire and took 3 attempts and 20 minutes. I've already given feedback on this and am not going to repeat myself. When I subsequently tried to call to say I would be late checking in, the phone went unanswered for 6.5 minutes. When I checked out, I was told my receipt would be emailed. It hasn't been (I've checked my spam). When a colleague in my finance team rang to ask for it to be resent or posted, the phone went unanswered again. Literate customer service does not exist. Both Mr. Hughes and I were staying in Superior Rooms, 103 and 204 respectively. Whilst the rooms were nice, the disturbance from the cleaners in the mornings was appalling. Both of us stay in hotels a lot, and this was extremely disappointing.
