« Great location in a happening city »

We have stayed here a few times and have always found it very comfortable. The rooms are pleasant and well laid-out and the staff are helpful. The hotel is brilliantly located, close to the restaurants and pubs of the old part of the city and everything is within easy walking distance. It would be good for the hotel if they could get the council to crown-lift the plane trees along the riverside as this once sunny spot has become very shaded as the trees have grown. Only one very minor complaint - some elements of the buffet breakfast were not as hot as I would like, the bacon and sausages particularly. But this is a minor thing, the breakfast on the whole was excellent.

Everything was fine except as usual there was a lot of noise outside. perhaps I should ask for a room not facing the water. The bottles are collected very early on in the morning. Otherwise excellet value and service

Centrally located, friendly staff. Usual overpriced parking. We stayed in the privilege room which seemed worth the extra for a quiet room with nice views. Good bathroom. Comfortable bed. We would stay again.

We have stayed here a few times now and wouldn't stay any where else. Close to all amenities. Staff very friendly and helpful plus the food is lovely. Hotel is over looking the river which makes a pleasant change rather than facing another building.

« Very pleasant short stay in a nicely located hotel »

We recently stayed for a couple of nights for a city break in Bristol. The hotel is in a good, central location overlooking part of the floating harbour, with plenty of bars and restaurants within a short walk. The staff were friendly and polite and the room was spacious, very well laid out and spotlessly clean. The room also had a Nespresso coffee machine and a free stocked minibar - a nice touch. The hotel Wi-fi is reliable and fast. One downside - the NCP car park next door. Even though it is very conveniently located if you are arriving by car, it is ridiculously expensive, very tired-looking and clearly built in an age when cars were a lot smaller. The spaces are stupidly small. You'll also be stuck in traffic chaos if you try to enter the car park during the weekday evening rush hour. So, a very nice hotel in a great location with nice, modern rooms - but if you choose to stay here, take public transport or come by taxi.

The hotel is in a great location for the centre of town/business area and is my regular choice when visiting Bristol. Staff are always friendly and welcoming. Room sizes are adequate and try for a view overlooking the Avon.

« Very central hideaway! »

Great hotel, the reception was warm, friendly and efficient and the time from arrival to room was less than 5 minutes. The room was very well organised, lovely view of the river and the Nespresso Coffee machine a must. The bed was very comfortable, a real surprise and most welcome. The whole stay was fantastic with only one negative point, the room was far to warm overnight. I did select cold on the temp control and assumed all would be well. Maybe I did not set it correctly or the control was faulty but we both woke early and complaining of the hot room. If I was to stay longer I would have asked for some help with this but we opened the window and all was well soon afterwards. A good night in Bristol supported by a good night at the Mercure, thanks everyone.

Good location in the middle of Bristol,quiet and comfortable.Friendly staff and nice cafe restaurant. It's easy to walk to all the main attractions both in the city and the riverside.The ss Great Britain is definitely worth a couple of hours.There is a NCP car park next door and the hotel gives a discount on parking.

Fantastic room, restaurant & bar, Staff are exceptional. Nice area outside to sit and relax and watch the river. Within walking distance of shops and restaurants. A stay at Mercure Bristol Brigstow Hotel is a must. We will be going back again this year.

I booked a one night stay for my wife and I so that we could relax after a late evening meal at a nearby restaurant. On-line check in was easy and a reasonable deal was secured. Check-in on the day was straight forward and the allocated room overlooking the waterway was clean, tidy but small. Particularly appreciated was a refrigerator that had obviously replaced a mini-bar that had originally been installed - the sticker for the mini-bar was still on the door! The problem was external noise. The hotel location is near to outlets offering late night food, drink and amusements and despite this being a cold March evening the noise of shouting and jollification continued right through to 4 am! We did not sleep. The room has basic double glazing but this did little to keep the noise out - proper triple glazing is necessary! Breakfast was OK - buffet style with rubber fried eggs but a decent cup of coffee required extra payment - the machine coffee was predictably awful. On the credit side all staff we met were helpful and friendly.

Room was fine but remote control didn't work properly. Requested new batteries that I received and put in controller but it still didn't work. I had to unplug the tv at the wall to turn off which was a pain. Ordered a Virgin Mary Cocktail to be told Worcester Sauce had run out which is very poor keeping of stock. Why do you get one pack of biscuits one day and 2 on another. What should it be? Not the best stay I have had here.

As others have said , the hotel is in need of a refurb. Aside from the tired rooms however this is not a 4 star hotel. The breakfast is rubbish, a very poor standard for the money also with tables not set and items not replaced... .On a positive note the bed was comfy and the location is great. But way over priced for what it is. Sorry , wont be back., Bristol has much better places for this money

Pleasant hotel although the room was very warm with no AC adjustment controls (only the fan power). Breakfast pleasant enough and nice bar. Good location, very handily located on the side of the river in central Bristol. Would be very good but for warm room.

Pleasant waterside Location. Brewdog Pub next door handy but they started clearing bottles out in the yard at 0515! Choice of restaurants nearby.Rooms are a little jaded but bed comfortable and a separate shower in the bathroom. Breakfast ok but didn@t reach Premier Inn standard!. OK for one night business trip or short leisure stay

« Standard stay at hotel but cleanliness is slipping »

I stay here every other month or so for work and genuinely never have any issues. The new restaurant is very good with great service and food. However the cleaning standards of the room are slipping badly with old towels which have seen too many washes and uncleanliness of the bathroom (I have photos of something awful dripping from the bath tap). I will be staying again as it is handy for work however based on cost their might be nicer elsewhere if their standards continue to slip.
