The room was excellent : large windows; comfortable bed; spacious; quiet; and, clean. The noise from the railway was not under the control of the hotel. The check-in experience was very good. The service in the bar was slow and dismissive. In the morning enquiries about the cost, and menu for breakfast were not answered with any understanding. The overall experience was good.

« Extremely helpful friendly staff resolved TV issue with room switch for the second night. »

Very welcoming reception staff quickly checked me in reassuring me that, as per my request on booking, a quiet room had been allocated on the 6th floor. It was only on my return to the room for an early night that I discovered the TV was misbehaving switching on and off haphazardly as if inhabited by gremlins. A young lady from reception came straight up but was unable to resolve it and asked me to take the matter up the following morning, which I did. The TV even came on again as I dozed and I had to unplug it myself to prevent being further disturbed. Another issue was the loud noise of the en suite extractor fan which I was told was on a central timer for the building and would go off at midnight, not being able to over ride that seems less than helpful. Another woman on reception the following morning did allocate me the next door room, I moved to it and there were no further problems ie the TV was fine and the extractor wasn't disturbing.

There were three areas that spoiled my stay. 1. Staff did not control noisy guests and my sleep was repeatedly disturbed. 2. This is the second time I have stayed at this hotel and on both occasions the heating controls did not function and staff had to provide me with an electric heater. 3. The computer in the lobby for guest use had been removed. I was informed it broke and had not been replaced. In the last week I stayed at the Premier Inn in Bristol and found that to be far superior and at a similar price. I shall never stay at Ibis Temple Meads again.

The room, decor, wonderful friendly and helpful staff were all much better than any of your competitors. The room rate was also very good. The only negative experience was trying to park at the Broad Plain car park, the recommendation for which we took off your website. The rate had changed and the whole experience mod trying to pay to park was dreadful.

The staffs were helpful, but the cleanliness is questionable. The toilet smells pungent, there's no way it was clean before they let us in. The bedsheets and pillow cases looks clean but smells like it was used already by a man,,,like it smells like men's sweat. Thelocation was perfect.

Everything with the room was fine. We were, however, extremely dissatisfied with being woken up by house-keeping staff shouting at us, demanding that we leave the room immediately. This was particularly frustrating as the late check-out service was the primary reason we opted to book with Ibis and we had paid the additional fee. My partner and I work at music events around the country, which require us to work late hours. The only we chose to book with Ibis was to use the late check-out service to allow us to catch up on sleep before driving to our next working location, which we were unable to do. Upon checking out and explaining my dissatisfaction to the desk staff we were met with no apology. All that was said was that they would check with the house-keeping staff, as if they didn't trust it had happened.

The room hasn't been prepared for our arrival (it was booked for 3 person, 2 adults and 1 child, but that's been neglected). Rooms very spacious, I couldn't get the fan/AC to work properly, needs some instructions. Wifi occasionally good, mostly low speed. The breakfast was too plain / too english, it missed some salads and vegetables. In the end, even if requested via separate email, I haven't received your invoice (I've been told at the reception this would be sent to my email address).
