Not upto the Accor global standards, property is old and needs revamp. Everything was old, front office staff needs to be more customer friendly, restaurant menu needs an overhaul, housekeeping standards can be better. Constant noise from the nearby cruises is annoying. Ramy the Duty Manager / Rooms manager is very friendly and helpful .

« Great hotel besides the Nile River »

Junior suite is good for a family with 2 children. Nile view from the room and roof cafe was terrific. Getting higher floors (i.e.3rd floor and above) would be better as we stayed on the 1st floor and the music from the boats on the river was quite loud.

Good hotel but a bit dated. It needs a uplift. Beds are great and location is awesome. Close to many attractions. Breakfast quality was average. The staff was courteous and the service overall was acceptable. Price paid was decent.

After booking for 5 nights, our first contact was with Mariam Wassiely via email, who helped us with questions and suggestions prior to arriving in Cairo. We booked a non-smoking room on the city side (view of the Cairo Tower) which was perfect for us. The room was quiet and peaceful which allowed us to get some good sleep. We would go to bed around 8-9 pm and wake up around 5 am (jet lag). We had the buffet breakfast on the ground floor which was very good........the fresh strawberries were an unexpected plus.......I ate soooooooo many strawberries. The Housekeeping was absolutely the best. This is probably the first time I have ever stayed somewhere where the housekeeping staff did everything perfect. The housekeeping girl even folded our Red Hot Chili Peppers t-shirts that we had left lying on the sofa. So, for the amenities we had shampoo, shower gel, soap, coffee, tea, sugar, cream, hot water kettle, one bottle of free water. Check-in and Check-out went smooth. There was never more than one guest waiting. The Reception staff is absolutely helpful. There is an ATM type machine in the lobby........You can actually put in foreign currency (U.S. dollars, Pounds, Euros, maybe more not sure) and receive Egyptian cash. Like I say, everything was absolutely perfect. And a side note.........after going through Immigration at Cairo Airport (into the lobby), there are a couple booths (Vodafone and Orange) that sell Sim cards. I got an Orange Sim card for just over $ 9 u.s dollars (paid via credit card). It had like 100 gigabytes of data and not sure how many minutes of local calls. So I could use the internet while on my tours and was able to call the driver to pick us up from the Red Hot Chili Peppers concert at the Pyramids. Also, if you are out and about alone and someone walks up to you acting like your best friend............well they aren't..........they will lead you to one of their shops and kind of aggressively sell you something.........my advice is to stay away. Anyways, Egypt is safe and the Egyptian people are wonderful. Enjoy your trip.
