« Well located, comfortable and welcoming »

Centrally located in Salisbury so great for getting around the city. Staff very attentive and made us both feel valued especially Jo in reception and Alex working the bar and restaurant. Room was well appointed and clean. Breakfast was good with a wide variety of options including the traditional Full English. Happy to recommend and would return if we were ever in need of a hotel in this area again.

We had booked an ‘executive’ room for one night. We have frequently stayed in Accor hotels and enjoyed our stays with very good rooms. This was not to be the case on this occasion. We were given a large room with an ersatz four poster bed. The bathroom was fine. This room was on the first floor and was on the corner of a busy road, right next to the traffic lights. We went straight out to explore the city and it wasn’t until our return at around 5 pm that we sat down to listen to the traffic, screeching to a halt at the lights and then roaring away. We would have had the joy of hearing this all night and into the early hours. We decided to ask to be moved to another room. I went to reception to ask to change our room. I was told in no uncertain terms by the blonde lady who was in charge that the hotel was fully booked and therefore no other room was available. I asked whether all the booked rooms were already occupied and she showed me a box empty of key cards as evidence that there was no alternative room available. This lady was quite forthright in her inability to help. Fortunately at this point a delightful man called Alex appeared (I think he was the porter). Alex was immediately intent upon solving the problem and doing his best to find us another room. He checked through the box of key cards for a number of rooms which, though booked, were not yet occupied. Eventually, he found a double room, which I think was a standard room, at the back of the hotel and in a quiet spot. He offered this to us and we were able to move from our noisy ‘executive’ room into this small but delightfully quiet room. All praise goes to Alex - a man who recognised a guest’s problem and did his very best to come up with a solution. Please pass our thanks and appreciation to him. The question arises as to why we were given such a badly situated room in the first place? We are Accor members and had, after all, booked an ‘executive’ room. Perhaps you could answer this question? We had booked breakfast at your hotel and went into the lovely dining room he following morning. We were shown to a table and were asked whether we wanted tea or coffee. We happened to see a menu on the table which outlined all the dishes which could be ordered for breakfast, in addition to those available on the buffet. No one told us that we could order dishes from the kitchen. Moreover, we noticed that subsequent guests who came for breakfast were also not told that they could order from the kitchen. This seemed to be a policy of the serving staff, presumably to save themselves and maybe the chef time and effort and so they could continue chatting at the door.. You have maybe concluded by now that our experience of the White Hart at Salisbury was not an entirely happy one. It may be wise to offer some training to your younger staff on customer relations and communication. Alex would be the man to do this. Yours sincerely Julia D.

Check in was challenging as the gentleman at the desk appeared overwhelmed albeit very well meaning . Not great after a strenuous journey! Staff were all lovely but rooms need attention in light of prices charged. I could not close my bedroom window and it was clearly a long standing problem as there was a screw and chain! Food was great but service and ambience was dated.

Good. Welcome was pleasant, room was OK, barman was friendly. I was only at the hotel for one night, arriving too late for dinner and leaving too early for breakfast, so my experience was limited. I would stay again, but not for a short overnight visit.

Excellent hotel. Not modern, but that's it's charm. We really enjoyed 'coming home' each evening after a day's site seeing. The breakfast was good, plenty of choice. Tibor was excellent, always friendly and helpful. Your reception staff were always lovely, friendly, helpful and knowledgeable (especially the rugby-playing one - sorry, didn't get her name!). It was our second stay in just over a month, and we are already planning a further stay.

It was fine. but almost impossible to know that requests - to ensure a car park space for example, had been passed on. They inevitably had not- even though my office spoke to the manager and about 5 different receptionists leading up to our stay.. On arrival no one had any info.. at all that we had been in contact with the hotel! There was car park space but that is not the point. Otherwise it was great, but the reception area is slow.

We stayed with you for 3 nights and had a pleasant stay. Our room was comfortable and quiet, but the air-conditioning didn't seem to work (and the weather was very hot) and our TV wouldn't work. We told Reception about the TV but nothing happened. We found the bar service very inconsistent. On our first night the barman was very friendly and helpful. On the other two nights we had problems getting served and on one of the nights we had to roam around the hotel to find somebody to serve us. There didn't seem to be enough staff available in the early evening period when the hotel was quite busy.
