We stayed at the hotel since we were attending a wedding close by. The hotel arranged an early check-in for us and a taxi to the wedding venue. The room was comfortable..big bed...and quiet since we were at the rear of the hotel. Breakfast was good..big selection.

Overall the hotel was fine, beautiful from the outside but slightly worn on the inside. Service in the restaurant was average, breakfast was also average. No hairdryer in the room and my wife had to chase this with reception 3 times before it was resolved.

« Great Service but Oudated »

2nd visit here in 2 years, this time round i did the spa and overnight stay. The staff are very friendly, got a free room upgrade but the upgrade did not feel like an upgrade, just a better view and slightly bigger room with a fridge. The rooms are very outdated, with dirty showers and slow drainage. The Spa was very good and modern, the treatment was great and again the staff were very friendly. The Thermal suite is also very relaxing but the deco is tired and bits of tiles coming off in the steam rooms. We enjoyed a lovely evening meal and service and the breakfast was also very good with some decent options in the buffet. Overall this hotel has alot of potential with some great people working for it. BUT it needs some major updates doing to it to bring it to the modern day. From Doors, to carpets to paint to showers .. EVERYTHING.

So... A few niggles. 1. Saturday afternoon / night - Not enough staff in the bar. I waited 30 minutes for my cocktail to be made! 2. Room 70 - Hell on earth. Way too hot (clearly above the spa) with no air conditioning to alleviate the issue. Not much help from the night receptionist who asked what he was supposed to do about it and gave me a fan. It was that bad I almost passed out and my partner had to wrap ice in towels to cool me down. Very little sleep and getting ready for a wedding in that room the next day (hair and make up) was nigh on impossible. Almost ruined the day. 3. Parts of the hotel need a good clean and refresh - Carpets not fitting correctly and several different carpets throughout; headboard that didn't fit the size of the bed; mismatched furniture; dated decor. This could be a stunning venue and hotel - it just isn't quite hitting the mark. There is no cohesive style. The standard bedrooms really are standard - on par with a Travelodge. The good points: 1. Food in the restaurant was delicious and the staff were friendly and attentive. 2. The Manager (Kris) was extremely helpful the following morning when I spoke to him regarding the previous night - We were compensated with free breakfast and an upgraded room.

I actually live 5mins from the hotel and came for a break, to relax and get a good night's sleep. It started off well. Was pleased with my room. Had a nap. Visited the spa which was lovely. Got back to my room, showered and felt super chilled. Then the wedding started in the evening and the noise erupted. There was sports cars revving their engines over and over really loud and it went on for hours. The noise went on until around 11.30pm. I had work the next day. I was awoken at 2am by someone's TV . It went on all night. Really loud. I had an awful nights sleep and was so tired at work the next day. I was so disappointed

« Absolutely amazing once again »

This is the second time i have visited this spa/hotel for a weekend break (travelling 3.5hours there and back!) , and once again it was amazing. The staff are very professional and all so lovely, the spa and treatment was perfect, all the facilities were very clean and tidy, the rooms are very big and nice, the food was very nice. I would 100% recommend this to anyone!

The hotel is nice, good breakfast. Two issues, first with the cleanliness - there was a huge spiders web covering the top corner of our door and a few dead insects on the floor outside the room (not very welcoming!). Second was parking - there was a wedding with over 400 guests and had to park the car miles from the hotel and not in an official space. Had to drive around for ages looking for somewhere to just leave the car. Might be better if some spaces were reserved for people staying at the hotel.

My friend and I booked a twin room and confirmed this several times (on booking, via phone and then at check in) but it was a double room. The spa facilities were good but on arrival no one explained these to us. We signed in and was given directions to where the facilities were and this was it. W booked in for dinner for both nights however at the restaurant no one had our booking. We asked if there was a specific menus for us (as we had booked dinner, bed and breakfast) and the waiting staff had no idea so we had to wait for the manager to come and explain it to us.
