on the whole the staff are very good but the hotel it self needs updating first thing it needs is air conditioning as the room was to hot and be ready for the £12 per night to park your car in the car park the rooms are ver dated

No real qualms - although it's looking a bit tired. The rooms/carpets could do with updating - water goes all over the bathroom floor when you have a shower as the screen doesn't fit properly.

My stay was much less comfortable than I would have hoped. Dated furnishings, awkward bathroom, and no air conditioning. The window didn't open more than four inches, so I was forced to have the fan on all day and night and was still far too hot. The 'double' bed was two singles bolted together - that isn't a problem in itself, but they were only fixed at one end. More than once I turned over in bed and my knee went straight down the middle of the beds so they just rolled apart! The seat of the armchair provided felt like it had collapsed with age. The staff, though, were top-notch. They were always professional and friendly, and I felt that they genuinely cared about my stay.

Stoped here to meet friends in Winchester - perfectly situated to Cathedral/ Places of interest / shops and Restaurants. Staff very efficient and helpfull. Car Park a little small - as cheap to park in near by pay and display. Room was very spacious / linen and towels spot on and crisp - bathroom clean - tea and coffee facilities in room very good.

We stayed in a 'Privilege' room, which was valuable for the air conditioning. The room was 'tired' and could do with a redec in the very near future. The remote for the TV was broken, but we managed. So was the standard lamp in the room!! The bed was very comfortable. The en-suite was OK, but again really needed an upgrade. Advertised as a room with a Nespresso machine, the two of us were provided with 3 pods! Not overly generous and not enough for two drinks in the evening and two in the morning!! Free soft drinks in the mini bar was a nice touch. I am sure a more discerning visitor might have been disappointed.

The receptionists were very polite and the breakfast menu looked great even though I didn't have time to try out the cooked breakfast. The room was comfortable although the hotel is a bit dated and can do with some updating.

Enjoyed the room and the bar. Had trouble using the Wi-Fi. With an infant in a push chair, the only entrance with a ramp is at the back of the hotel, and there is no signage indicating this. The door was locked and it took about five minutes for a hotel employee to open it. Then one needs to somehow operate a small mini elevator to get to reception and the bedrooms.

We arranged for two friends to sleep at the hotel because a catastrophic leak meant we had no water. In spite of that they would have been more comfortable staying with us. Both got little sleep for two nights because of heat (fans provided were inadequate) and because of the noise, particularly from the adjacent building work. I was paying but not staying. After three abortive calls when I was passed around the world, it seems the only way I was able to pay was by turning up in person.

We were very impressed with your helpful staff .. we had medical equipment and they looked after us very well and cheerfully The location of the hotel was excellent (room noisy but you cannot control neighbour,s demolition work) The room needed updating. Had a very effective shower but took ages to persuade the taps to deliver water. Building generally dull in and out. Only ate breakfast in hotel which was ok but no more. Car parking a nightmare .. surely it could be reorganised.

« Great location, spacious rooms although a bit dated decor wise and efficient staff »

This hotel is good value for it's superb location, the decor is dated but the rooms are very comfortable. There are a few categories so make sure you know what you are getting. One of our windows didn't open properly which was annoying on a hot night but there are fans. If the hotel is not busy they should avoid using these with broken handles. Staff are sparse but efficient and friendly.

Good customer service and great location in middle of city centre. Only thing was the very warm room. Fan helped a bit but sleep was a bit disturbed by the warmth :-)

The room was lovely the only problem I have is that under the footrest was pants and socks left by the last guest also the basin in the bathroom had a gritty feel to it where the cleaning solution had not been washed off

Rooms were clean comfortable and parking available. Access to our rooms for older people would be a problem. From the lift we needed to use stairs to get to our room.
