The staff were friendly and polite. The hotel is is in a good area and to start with its very nicely decorated. As you go towards the bedrooms the hotel becomes shabbier, with chipped paint or half rubbed off paint. The room was pleasant and the bathroom clean. The breakfast was not good.

We only stayed for one night, but the hotel is located right in the centre of Farnham, with easy access to restaurants and other facilities in the town. Parts of the hotel are currently being renovated, but that won't take long. Thoroughly recommended.

I will summarise in bullets below. I stayed with my partner, baby and mother-in-law in room 25 and 26 on 6th July 2019. - Baby cot was set up correctly and rooms were close together. -Phone and TV in room 26 does not work. - Incredibly hot in both rooms, unbearable and extremely dangerous for a young baby. - No air conditioning. Staff are aware a baby was staying and assigned us in a non air conditioned room. No fans in room. - Room 25 had an ironing board and no iron. - Room 25 had dirty towels (still containing mascara from last guest). - Window sills in room 25 had broken glass. - No information on development in parking bay so limited spots available, very unhelpful for unloading with a baby, needed to park in the local supermarket. - No information about lifts not being available. Staff having to carry baby upstairs. - Breakfast, 2 of 3 meals sent back, porridge not cooked, poached eggs were overcooked (in one case the yolk wasn't even in the egg?!). - Waiting staff were professional. - Front of house staff could be more helpful. If you do indeed read these reviews, I should be glad of someone contacting me as I shall also be writing to the hotel manager directly.

Had a good experience overall. Central location. Mattress very comfortable. Had a good night's sleep. It was a little noisy later than I would have liked due to loud music in the vicinity. But thankfully that didn't go on into the wee hours. I do feel the hotel was a little bit too pricey for what it was but that's normal for accommodation in the UK! Seamless and quick check in and check out.

My husband and I stayed at this hotel on 29th June and were extremely dissapointed with our welcome and the quality of the room. We had checked in online before arriving at the hotel, however it still took us more than 10 minutes to get our key, even though there were 2 receptionists at the desk. 1 was attending to a customer and the other was too busy with her paperwork to look up and greet us. When we finally got her attention it felt like we were inconveniencing her for asking for the key to our room. Not a great first impression to the hotel at all. The room was also a big dissapointment, there was mould in the grout of the shower and sink, no safety deposit box, our telephone didn't work and the mini bar was empty, there weren't even any bottles of water in the bedroom- and it was the hottest day of the year in the UK- 32 degrees! When I called reception (externally from my mobile phone) to ask for some water to be brought up to the room, I was told that water is normally only offered to those in privilege rooms, but as an exception they would bring some up for us. A bottle of water in a room is standard practise in even a travel lodge so I was amazed by this response, especially as we paid £165 for 1 night at this hotel. The quality of the room is more comparable to an £80 a night room, we felt we were ripped off by the price we paid for this room. The whole hotel needs a refurb- a lick of paint and new carpets would go a long way. I would definitely not stay at this hotel again or recommend it to anyone.

The experience started off badly when the hotel lost a family booking it then got worse when the rooms where not ready and knowing you had a large wedding party due in guests where expected to change in the toilets. After the wedding which was a fantastic day we return to the hotel and to my amazement there was no single bed in our room for my daughter (11 years old) read the booking form properly funnily enough we don't normally sleep in the same bed as our daughter!!!

« Typical Bad Experience at the hotel - the only reason the business survives is the location »

This hotel is shocking and has been shocking for many years. I have stayed there over 30 times in the last 10 years (maybe more) - and spent thousands of dollars. I have brought entire teams of business travelers there for long stays all because of the location and nothing else. You cannot have loud wedding (or other) receptions in such a small facility that go to midnight period. It is so loud that nearly half the hotel becomes unbearable and some rooms, you have to leave unoccupied. Second, you cannot have non-English speaking staff at the front desk. There was a young man at the front desk that could not even understand what a hair dryer was/is. You do not invest in this hotel. The couch in Room 4 is not vintage its pathetically old (late 1970's or early 1980's) -- All the furnishings are cheap, maintenance barely patches things that are broke instead of replace and upgrade. The room Keys are very frequently made inoperable for no reason (first night both keys no longer worked) -- this has happened to me many times. Putting new paint in the reception area did not upgrade this hotel - the biggest problem by a very large margin is you are not really investing in this property, Furnishings are cheap, way out of date, broken and sad and like I said, been that way for many years. Shame on you for taking such advantage of the location and the people forced to pay the premium to stay there and not investing back for the people who pay the bills. Its a pretty courtyard / location - people want to have events there, I get it, but the location is not acoustically setup for that (you have a separate building for events, that is Ok - having a band and loud reception in the attached dinning room area makes the entire hotel unbearable -- really amazing you would do this) --
