A lovely relaxed stay in the heart of Exeter. Lovely rooms, great breakfast, cooked to order and a bar that stays open as long as you need it.

Frustrating, great location, good room, parking resold to locals so not available to guests! Asked for aircon to be fixed 3 times, not looked at! 2nd night had extra quilt, bath towels tiny!

When booked hotel suite, requested a quiet room. Requested the same when came to hotel at lunchtime on day of arrival and again when we checked in. Unbeknown to us (till 9pm) that evening, we were given a room directly above the function room where a private staff party was being held and extremely loud music was playing until midnight.

Package detail not made clear and we felt we felt were overcharged. Cooked breakfast poor. Groups were given prioirty in restaurant and the delay in serving food was unreasonable.

Room 287 Princess Hay Suite; The heating did not work ie rads barely luke warm The air con did not work There was a starge room odur Cleaning was not brilliant as glitter on carper, lolipop stick near window on floor Wine bottles and plates left outside in corridor all evening until I heard being picked up in the morning Hole in wall behind room entrance door The flashing fire alrm above the bed disrupts sleep and there is a setting where this can be switched off

We reserved a Family room this time (Room 374) and it was a very peaceful room with no noise disturbance.Visited the Spa facilities twice which we enjoyed.We also thought that the waiters/waitresses were much more attentive at breakfast and the meal was good.

Professional and easy check in and room was great over looking the cathedral. Slightly let down by breakfast and lunch inadequately trained bar staff that were left unsupervised so a lack of knowledge when making cocktails.

« Poor quality food, poor service and several errors in bar bills. »

Menu choices unavailable quality of food poor with cold unappetising food human hairs stuck on one starter the next evening the meals were very slow and steaks were all over cooked. The red wine sauce was gravy with a splash of wine in. The milk for overnight room drinks was sour and had to be discarded. During breakfast a beggar was hassling guests and was rude. We had to inform the manager as the hotel had not noticed.

Excellant location to visit Cathedral, city centre and Quay. Hotel is a little tired in decor but room was clean and tidy. Staff on the whole were friendly and helpful although evening restaurant staff seemed to lack experience and when there were obvious problems affecting all the customers in the dining room on the Saturday evening no one took control and addressed the problems. However overall we enjoyed our stay.

Room was good, clean and comfortable. Food was very poor - actually was ill after my evening meal. Ordered breakfast to the room on two mornings - ordered exactly the same thing on both mornings and neither morning was it correct. Staff friendly and polite.

Very comfortable room with good facilities in the hotel. Breakfast was good and was only let down by a very poor toaster for the duration of my stay; would have thought it would have been replaced as it did not work properly.

It was a treat for my daughters birthday the fact the hotel had a pool and sauna etc appealed. We only stayed the one night. Hotel was clean and tidy we stayed in room 16 as you enter the shower room there was hint of sewage smell had outstay been longer I would’ve mentioned it at the time. This is my only criticism!
