Stayed here as a family of 3 and the hotel was well equipped for families and the egg hunt was a nice touch. I wanted to mentioned Martyn at the front desk, as he has brilliant customer service and made our trip memorable. Thank you very much, you are a star and a credit to the hotel!

I was sad to find out on arrival that you now have to pay to use the pool, not just once for your stay but every time you use the pool and it was £10. I don't know of any pools that charge that much. I have been coming to this hotel for well over 15 years and this has made me think that maybe I need to look for a different hotel. Very sad that members do not get it free or at a discount.

Effykins Families - TripAdvisor review

We first want to highlight that the check-in was very simple and straightforward. This meant we could settle into our room quickly, which was appreciated. The same could be said for the checkout, it was very prompt and meant we could leave to continue our day in Exeter. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and were accommodating to any changes we wanted to make to the room. However, the only way we could describe our room was shabby. There were marks all over the walls, and stains throughout the carpet. The fridge was also not particularly clean. Furthermore, there was a very unpleasant drain smell in the lobby of the hotel which made entering the hotel, not the most welcoming experience. We will say, however, that the bathroom was spotless. The room was relatively soundproof, and the blackout curtains were very good. The hotel is in an ideal location, and the staff are a credit to the establishment. But our room could be improved as it needed much TLC. We did not feel that the room was worth what was being charged considering the state of it.
