« Hotel lovely, spa a let down »

We came to stay to celebrate our first wedding anniversary as we got married at Brandon Hall. We have a lovely chilled weekend, with a delicious 3 course meal and overnight stay in a lovely feature room. We have no complaints about the hotel and staff in the hotel and would definitely stay there again. However unfortunately the spa facilities was the let down of the weekend. Myself and my husband had booked a spa treatment each, 6 weeks in advance. When we got there, I found out that I had been booked in for the completely wrong treatment. I asked for the staff members' name that had booked me in for my treatment initially and was told, this wasn't the first time this has happened, which not what I wanted to hear when I was already angry and upset, because I wasn't able to have my chosen treatment and because of the meaning of the weekend. I couldn't then be accommodated for that treatment due to staff skills/experience and when I asked staff my options of alternative treatments, they couldn't be specific, as they were renewing their brochures and weren't fully aware of the treatments they were offering. I also wasn't given much time to decided because I was told I was "eating into my treatment time". Therefore I decided to ask for a refund as I wasn't in the mood for a relaxing spa treatment after that. I felt that the staff couldn't offer me my refund quick enough. This unfortunately ruined my afternoon. However the stay with the hotel was amazing, friendly and approachable staff, fantastic meal and lovely room.

Excellent. Lovely clean room. Excellent food friendly staff especially our dinner waiter didnt catch his name sorry (english n wore glasses..) lovely clean pool and spa area relaxing ground. Everything you wanted for a short break away.

« Very disappointed »

Room was not ready at checking in time, window in bedroom would not stay open it was a boiling hot day, didn't get a winks sleep because we were to hot, waiter did not come to table to take payment for evening meal, so I had to go up to kiosk. It was supposed to be a anniversary treat to my partner, for the money I paid I was very disappointed. My partner has complained, and head office are dealing with it, and are going to give me a discount

All was good until the Saturday evening of 02/06/2018 as we were given a room above a function room and the ladies music got louder which we had to endure as nobody was answering the phone on reception, the ladies in question should surely have been given the rooms that were nearest the din. Earlier in the evening we asked someone as to when the music was turned off and he told us 1 am as the ladies booked the hotel every year. We should however mention that our experience in the restaurant earlier in the evening was excellent. the food was good and the service from the staff was first class. it was a shame about the noise as it would stop us from using the hotel again.noisy

My partner was fortunate in receiving this dinner , bed and breakfast overnight stay when we entered a draw whilst having Sunday lunch with you. What a lovely, totally unexpected treat! I have spread the word about such a good marketing idea - well done, we certainly will be coming again.

« Very hot! »

The bed was comfy, the facilities were all fine, the food was good but not amazing. My biggest problem was that the bedroom and the conference room were both incredibly hot and stuffy with no air con. I could only open my top window of the bedroom as windows opened onto a flat roof accessed from the corridor, so I didn't feel safe to leave the big one open. I did use the fan provided but the nearest plug point was too far away for it to do much good.

Hotel is lovely and grounds. Staff were so friendly was refreshing. Deserts were a bit slow and below par in restaurant but rest of food was nice. Room lovely- please could we have instructions for the espresso machine. Could we have a few more veggie sausages in the morning

« Not as good as I expected »

The room was nice, as was the restaurant, but a couple of let downs. Each morning I went to breakfast, I was asked for room number and whether I would like tea or coffee. Only on the 4th day did the coffee arrive without having to chase it, once asking twice more before it arrived. Restaurant was ok, but second evening I had white esparagus starter which was so stringy as to be unpleasant. I didn’t use the restaurant after this. Final thing was one day room cleaning could have been better. A half plastic cup of water remained in the bathroom and no soap left. Other days were ok. Nothing catastrophic, but at the price I would expect better.

« Quiet, country, location »

Wonderful place in a lovely location with great facilities and helpful staff. Only slight negative is communication between team members could be better as there's no point in advising guests to specify specific dietary requirements in advance, ie gluten free and then not passing on the information which is what happened during my visit and also affected a colleague. That said, the hotel staff did everything in their power to overcome the situation and on the day of my conference meeting, specifically cooked me something to eat for lunch as there was only chicken on the menu which I'd had the night before. The lunch was divine and worth the extra wait. So all in all, a good stay overall. Thank you.

Check in and bar facilities no issues Room tired looking with mould around window, bathroom had mould around bath, rusty towel radiator and numerous hairs around which weren't mine. No Aircon or fan in room and no way to let air in window with compromising security. Had very poor night's sleep due to this. Breakfast was lookwarm Very disappointed as I went over company budget to stay here.

Our room had recently been decorated and was contemporary and very nice although a tad small. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The buffet breakfast was good with a wide selection of fruit, cereal, cooked food and cold food.

« Amazing food but noisy vents in the bedroom in new wing. »

I stay at this hotel approximately once a month and usually find it faultless. However, during my last stay I was given a room on the ground floor in the new wing. There was a strong vibration sound in the room that seemed to come from an air vent inside the wardrobe. I didn't sleep well, had headache with the constant noise, and when I told reception there was an apology but no offer of anything else. The food at this hotel is Michelin quality and highly recommended; the spa is also great.
