Arrived at 1.30pm toldvroom not ready until 2.00pm. Went back at 2.00pm still not ready.alternative room given. Lights in room didnt work. Safe didnt work showing low battery. Smell of drains coming up through plug holes in bath,sink and shower. Hardly any sandwiches on menu available. On menu it statd small portion of soup with sandwich didnt get one. Went to car park with discount ticket. Even that didnt work.

What is the difference between a GBP50/night hotel and one costing twice that. The differentiator should be quality. That was completely lacking - The room service was in a paper bad, with plastic cutlery - The dish (fish and chips) were soggy and burnt - The room was in a poor state of repair - The hotel had low occupation on the day I checked in, yet the front desk allocated me a room above the alley, which didn't help with the sleep. I had to ask room service to move my room on to the other side, which was much better.

Close to a good secure car park in the city centre, surrounded by shops, restaurants and public spaces. This modern-looking hotel has a unique green and pleasant space on the side, Sheffield Winter Gardens that's worth a brief stroll. Greeted very cheerfully at check-in which was nice! Good sized room, well appointed and a great view over the Peace Gardens and City Hall (even though the lifts the room backed on to were a little noisy). Spacious and airy bar area with a broad range of cocktails and other drinks - served by more cheery staff! Nice calm breakfast experience, good range of tasty food overlooking the Winter Gardens, looked after by a pleasant manager. The staff in all departments were great! Unfortunately, didnt get chance to try the pool/spa...maybe next time!

We had a great stay at the hotel. However there were some things that could have been and we expected to be a bit better. We had booked a deluxe premium privilege stay and it wasn’t quite up to scratch. But it was a wonderful trip.

Staff were very friendly and helpful, even though they were having computer problems at time of check in. Only downside, the shower and sink tap in the bathroom didn't have a constant temp, kept going from cold to red hot no matter what setting you had them on.
