Good hotel. Large rooms and large, modern bathrooms. Friendly front desk. Ample buffet breakfast in the morning. Also a bar that is open past theater showings. Maybe a 5-minute walk to the RSC. Just 2-3 minute walk to a variety of nearby restaurants. Convenient location. Maybe a 10-minute walk to a pedestrian street for shopping. About a 5-minute taxi ride from the train station. (Be warned that there are taxis outside of the train station, but not many. There were two when our train pulled in, and we didn't catch them in time. But after a 10-minute wait, two more showed up.) I would stay at the Mecure again.

Stayed in room 104. Continuous noise from water system at night particularly making sleep difficult Hotel generally 'tired' & in need of a refurbishment. NOT a 4 * hotel as advertised - at best a sub standard 3* hotel A M.

Very positive, friendly, customer focused staff - all who engaged with us were very good. Room was comfortable - our only complaint was the noise. Our room was directly above the front entrance - significant traffic on the stairs was disturbing; when a party left the Hotel early (5.30) Sunday morning the noise rising to our room (no.103) was significant.

Room was fine, breakfast very good. The bath taps were broken, forcing us to use the shower. The taps had obviously been broken for some time. The receptionist believed that it was the guests duty to report any faults as soon as they entered the room. A concept that is new to me despite having stayed in many hotels in the last 50 years. Would we stay again? Not before checking other hotels in the area.

Pleased with the room however the breakfast was very disappointing . Fried food was not refreshed and bacon and eggs were left sitting too long and temperatures not checked as they should have been!!

We received a pleasant and helpful reception. The room was comfortable and appropriate to our needs- there was wheel chair space. The lunch we had was pleasantly served and the sandwiches we had were delicious. Room service was prompt and the food was good. A disabled parking space was reserved for us as requested.

Excellent hotel with traditional features. Very clean. Great location right in centre of Stratford. Lady on reception very helpful and friendly. I did however have to request teabags and milk despite paying extra for a privilege room as there was only 1. Only issue was at breakfast the staff member told us to follow her to a table then turned round and went into kitchen area leaving us standing around for a couple of minutes before she returned and then after seating us left without explaining the breakfast buffet. Also we had no milk on the table for our tea and coffee. I had to borrow some from another guest until the waitress returned and I could request some.

The staff, building, food was all great. The staff were all very pleasant and friendly. It's a good location and everything was well organised. The room however was the noisiest I've ever stayed in. Other guests were waking us up as we were right by the main stair's and there were noisy people outside our window, and this continued until the early hours, we were then woken up early, starting at 5am by street cleaners, deliveries etc. We were told we had been given a room upgrade but wish we'd been given a quiet room instead. We did mention it to the staff in the morning but she wasn't really bothered. We were so tired the next day that we left Stratford early so we could go home and sleep.

Reception was efficient, we paid - being told it wouldn’t be taken from our account. We stayed in a lovely suite and enjoyed Prosecco on our arrival. We paid when we left, having been told that our upgrade would be refunded for which we were grateful, as there was a smell of sewerage in the bedroom.On looking at our account at home, we found that the first payment, on the 31st, for the over the full amount had been taken. Having contacted the hotel we have been assured this will be resolved over the next few days.

We stayed in one of the suites which was a great room, clean, well appointed and spacious. However the food was not great (tasteless banoffee pie with undercooked sauce for example). Plus once we had drawn the curtains to sleep (and reduced the air flow in the room) it absolutely stank of blocked drains. So much so that it woke us up several times in the night.
