Was a lovely stay, but unfortunately after having my breakfast order being taken I was forgotten about and waited 20 minutes for a poached egg on toast. Unfortunately I had to leave as I had a meeting to attend. Small detail but left me feeling disappointed.

Everything was fine, especially the staff who are very friendly and efficient. Two small points: the air conditioning in the room was very noisy and the eggs over cooked.

Overall quite pleasant. The tea/coffee tray could have been a bit more generous re milk (only two pots) and tea bags were not replenished fully after the first night. Otherwise ok. Very good breakfast, couldn't fault.

« Marco made a wonderful first impression! »

We enjoyed a wonderful stay last weekend and this began with our warm professional greeting from Marco Columbo (he was so good I asked for his name!) I cannot emphasise enough how important it is to have a great first impression so thank you. Our room was smaller than expected but the decor and quality meant we chose not to ask to change rooms. The breakfast was really lovely too and the decor and colour scheme of the orangerie was beautiful! We appreciated the nice touch of complimentary cookies in the evening too. We enjoyed drinks in the hotel bar and although the bar is small it was also very nice. We travelled with another couple and we are have already emailed Marco regarding dates for us to return

room was comfortable food att breakfast was good but portions for cooked breakfast were small staff in the dining room (breakfast} did not clear plates and did not ask if we wanted more coffee or toast. I had to ask one of the waiters, so I would suggest your staff need re-training.

I booked one of the queens superior rooms overlooking the park and it was pleasant but I had specified in my enquiry that it was my wife's 40th birthday. No effort was made to make my wife feel special or any options of treat packages were offered which was disappointing. The receptionist did wish my wife a happy birthday as we checked out

Our Secrets Escapes booking had not been added to your booking system, which was quite an embarrassing start to the stay. The bathroom was clean and adequate. The room was inadequate as there was no space for a bedside table on one side of the bed and a minuscule surface on the other side of the bed. Only one chair. No drawers, only a very small hanging space. No desk or dressing table area for doing make up/hair. Ironically a fold up case stand was provided but pointless as there was nowhere to stow the contents of a case. The lack of space made it impractical to frequent the room. Restaurant food very good however the staff were not aware that meals were included with our stay and issued us with al a carte menus. It was embarrassing to query whether we should be ordering from that menu. We were then issued with inferior menus. Breakfast was very good. Staff were very polite. The room should not be referred to as superior as it is clearly deceptive.

We had a lovely weekend and would recommend to others but not Room 128. The left hand side of the bed/mattress was on a slant. This made for uncomfortable sleeping. We only stayed the 2 nights and I slept on that side one night and my husband the 2nd night. We don’t like to complain, so just left a note on the bed on leaving. It was the only thing, otherwise would recommend to all. The Hotel is lovely, food excellent and surroundings. Park opposite, nice ambience and the Town area. We thoroughly enjoyed the Bank Holiday weekend stay.
