« Welcoming and helpful on arrival, pleasant spaces, excellent cuisine, central postion for sightseeing. »

We had a pleasant stay. Two main grumbles: The dining experience was rather quaint, an agressive floor manager who seemed to think we were 'creeping in' against his rules. Very complicated system of extra charges etc. Our TV never worked properly, it was checked once but obviously there was something wronrg with the remote control and the settings.

All good, check in easy as did this online, really did save time on the day of arrival. Room lovely, location great, breakfast great as chef can cook eggs etc to your liking. Parking at rear great although I do think price high when you pay to stay as guest and paid for upgrade. Would recommend to others.

The friendly and professional welcome coupled with assistance provided by Beverley and her Team were exemplary. Embarrassingly for the Hotel, my Accor Reservation (whilst confirmed by email) was somehow 'lost' somewhere in the system. This was quickly 'sorted' in the most professional way by Beverley. The helpful and friendly advice's and suggestions confirmed that their local knowledge was exceptional.

On check in staff were very polite and welcoming. However, I did have to remind staff about my welcome drink voucher as a silver member. The selection of teas, coffees, bottled water and toiletries in the room was good. However, 2 packets of biscuits would have been suitable instead of 1 for a room occupied by 2 people. Also, the plug sockets were not in the most practical places for the kettle to be used. Plug sockets would be practical if the were at desk surface level behind the desk. The room was comfortable and we'll furnished. The shower dripped at the side of the ceiling shower panel and the toilet seat needs tightening too. The cleanliness between the window screen and the window could be improved. Also, I placed the do not disturb sign on the door tempoariliy while getting ready before going out and about at 10am. A not was placed under the door to state that the room could not be cleaned due to the sign and to ring reception for amenities. In most hotels, housekeeping staff come back to those rooms later on if the sign is removed afterwards. I contacted reception at 10:10 and they informed housekeeping to clean the room. However, when my room was cleaned they removed my reusable coffee cup from the room. I reported this and staff were sympathetic and apologetic but I do not have a replacement cup or a refund at this stage. I have no idea when/if it will be resolved. I sent an email to the hotel manager on 6th August regarding this in more detail. The breakfast service on a consistent level with other 4 star hotels in the Accor chain (Novotel and Mercure). The room was not very insulated from external sound. I had interrupted sleep on both nights due to the noise of the traffic and I could hear the noise of bedroom doors closing quite loud along with the creaky floor on the corridor. On a positive note, staff had an excellent manner with guests.

Nice room. Not much of a view. One of the twin beds had a bad dip on it. Nice breakfast and nice helpful staff. We booked a dinner in Brasserie Blanc that evening which was fine.

Very welcoming, beds truly amazing. Breakfast and service all very good . Interiors downstairs very tasteful. Rooms a little too dark for my taste and could do with a modern twist so may be a grey or teal palette rather than blue on walls? This is reflected more downstairs. Fridge did not work and this should have been checked. Noisy at night and with traffic in morning.need better double glazing.

Hotel is in perfect location in central Bath. Stayed in a feature room for our wedding anniversary which was nice and overall décor of hotel was very good and fitting for location. Staff were friendly and helpful and we received chocolates and a card for our anniversary in our room which was a nice touch. Parking at hotel was very expensive and car was covered in seagull crap when we left. Breakfast buffet was slightly disappointing for a hotel of this standard. Overall a good experience

Urban gulls are an issue for many towns and cities throughout the South West. Unfortunately, there is no legislation that enables the Council to control them effectively and they continue to create havoc throughout the City. The accommodation at the Francis is luxurious. The staff are helpful and courteous. The rooms are well equipped and comfortable. What more is there to say? ... Well, I should add that the hotel is within easy walking distance of many of Bath's tourist attractions and that it has a sizeable car park. You will not regret staying here!

« A lovely way to celebrate a special anniversary. »

I had emailed in advance to say we were celebrating and the hotel did their best to help us to have lovely memories of our weekend in Bath. We were lucky to receive an upgraded room, with a gift, and we were treated very well. Parking was very easy, check in and out was swift and breakfast was good. All staff were very helpful and approachable. It felt like a little bit of luxury. The hotel is in an old building so cracks in the ceiling and random creaky floorboards etc. was to be expected but the room and hotel was very clean and welcoming.
